I called several times during the month of July and was advised by Sallie Mae that as long as my payment was in by July 31st it would not be reported late to the credit bureaus. The representative actually told me she put a note in the system that stated payment would be made on 8/1/12 and I was advised nothing would be reported negative to the credit bureaus. On 8/10/12, Sallie Mae reported 4 accounts negative on my credit report. There is documentation in the system that two supervisors were able to see, but they stated I was given iniaccurate info. I do not feel I should be penalized for their customer service reps not being properly trained. Then I was advised they would retract the info, but they never did. I do not feel Sallie Mae should be able to provide their clients inaccurate info and there be no penalties.
