July 2012 I had to file bankruptcy in order to free up funds to be able to pay Navient student loans, that had gotten out of hand. Bankruptcy was discharged Oct 2012; student loans not discharged. November 2012 I rec’d E-Mail from SallieMae informing of this, and stating payment will resume 12/7/12, $312.47 a month. Rec’d letter in the mail from them dated 11/21/12, that indicates $312.47 will be my monthly payments until 7/7/14, and also received the payment coupons with that amount indicated, to be mailed with the payments. I logged into their website to see if I could make the first payment through their site & noticed they have different monthly amount – $395. I sent my first payment for $312.47 Dec 2012 with payment coupon that indicated that was amount to be paid & also copy of their letter. I made 2nd payment for $312.47. on 1/2/13 and they confirmed via e-mail both payments rec’d. However, their system still indicates monthly payment due as $395. I cannot & will not pay more. It is highly unethical for them to try to change amount that way. I obtained a copy of my credit report from Transunion today, and they are not reporting the payments. I appear as having made last payment on 5/15/12. (Sallie Mae has also been sending me attachments with E-mails that confirmed payments rec’d. However, my computer is not able to open those attachments???)
