Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can be minor and temporary or they can have lifelong effects and be very severe. But almost always, the vast majority of TBI victims can partially or fully recover from the injury. If you or a loved one has sustained a TBI from an accident, contact Mike Agruss Law for a free consultation so we can help you recover from this experience and get fairly compensated.

In the first few weeks following any type of TBI, people will experience some swelling, bruising, bleeding, or changes in brain chemistry. Things may be very difficult during this time, depending on the injury’s severity, and the TBI will be causing its most prominent changes in the brain and its chemistry. But gradually following this period, with the right treatment and medical attention, the injury will slowly recover and get closer to normal.

In the six months following the injury, the victim will experience the most improvement. After this period, the recovery will be slower and more focused on the long term damage and rehabilitation. This is the general timeline of recovery, and it is certainly possible. Exceptions may include extremely severe TBIs, such as penetrating injuries, where recovery may be much more difficult or longer.
