On August 18, 2013, a car rear-ended a motorcycle in Riverdale, at the intersection of Fenno Road and State Street. The car was turning left on State when it hit the left rear side of the bike, sending it into a skid more than 200 feet long. The crash happened around one in the afternoon; the rider and bike were separated—the bike traveled farther than its rider, a 62-year-old man from Port Byron, Illinois. The biker was not wearing a helmet, and sustained several injuries. The car’s driver, a 23-year-old woman from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, was cited for failing to obey a stop or yield sign.
