I have been dealing with idiots at Navient since Oct when they first contacted me to renew my IBR Plan with them. I sent in all the information and since our income has changed I provide Alternative Documentation of monthly income. Than they contacted me at the end of Oct saying that it was not time to apply for IBR plan as I was still on it and had to wait for application to be sent to me. Well I resubmitted it to them again along with first letter they sent to me. Well I received a call on 12/07/12 Caryn in collections that my account with Sallie Mae was not current but I informed them that I had not received any notice of such but in fact all statements say 0 is due. Neither I nor Caryn could find anything regarding past due amounts online. Now yesterday I receive letter dated 12/03/12 that I was denied for the IBR Plan as I did not qualify for partial income hardship yet when entering my information online it says I do qualify. Since my husband retired his monthly income has dropped from over $3000 a month to just around $1200 a month and I receive So Sec Disability $873 a month and that is after taxes and insurance. Please note I owe a loan also to Direct Servicing (Mohela) as well in the amount approx. $500,00. I feel that I am getting the run around just because I am low income and they do not want to bother with a disabled person in addition I responded as quickly as I could when receiving the information they requested. I really do believe that Sallie Mae needs investigating on their handling of student loan repayment services.
