I applied for a loan from Sallie Mae for school in 2008. The loan was in my name with my step father as a co-signer. In 2010 I had filed for bankruptcy and was told by Sallie Mae that I couldn’t include the loan in the bankruptcy and transferred the loan to my stepfather’s name. I ask Sallie Mae what I needed to do to get the loan back in my name and was told all I had to do is send them a copy of the discharge letter and it would be taken care of. I sent them that letter twice and they still haven’t put the loan back in my name. I have written several letters to them and keep getting a response of “We nee to investigate further.” I have tried calling them several times also, but keep getting transferred to several people. One call I was transferred to 8 different people and ended back at the main menu for the call. I got so upset I hung up. I have been trying to get this loan back to my name for almost 3 years now and can’t get a straight answer from anyone by phone call or letters.
