This is my second time filing a complaint against Navient. Since last filing a complaint, this company has placed a “cease and desist” order on my student loan account, therefore, giving me no information on my account. Everytime I have tried to gain information on repayment of this loan, I have been given different information, and in doing so, have accrued a large amount of money in interest while I have been waiting to get a letter stating my options for repayment (which one phone call told me I was to get in the mail). Because of Sallie Mae, I now have a “charge-off” or default on my student loan on my credit report because they have been unwilling to give me options to succeed in paying the loan back. I am a strugling college graduate, looking for a full-time job, while also raising a baby. They have not granted me a deferment or lower monthly payments per my request (even after knowing my situation). Now, representatives for the company hang up on me when I call for information, or I receive false information, which leads me further into debt. This company has treated me unfairly when I have tried multiple times to keep in good graces with loan repayment, and has sent me to collections, but tells me I cannot be assigned to a collection agency because THEY placed a cease and desist order for all forms of contact. This needs to stop.
