I have applied for two loans from Sallie Mae with different numbers and different rates for each. I am now in the process of getting a mortgage for my first home. My mortgage has been approved and I only need to pay one of my student loans. I called Sallie Mae on how to proceed with my payments and they informed me that I need to pay the loan with the higher interest. It’s been weeks since I sent them my payment and I have yet to receive my confirmation of my payment. Later, I found out that they split my payment to my two loans. I called them to fix the mistake. They told me that I only have one main loan. How can it be when I have two loan numbers? They said they will fix it. After a few weeks, I called them again and I was promised that will finally fix it. I am upset now that my closing date is nearing and it won’t happen unless they apply my payment to the other loan entirely.
