I am being sued by fein such. They got a judgment against me in 2008 for some company called Baxter Financial by sending a complaint to an address i hadn't lived at in 3 years... I was able to get the judgment vacated in January 2014. (My bank account was levied in dec 2013). They filed a reconsideration motion in February that i did not respond to in time and judgment was reinstated again February 18. I was able to have that vacated last Monday may 5 after judge sent them a request asking for certain documents and they did not reply to the Judge!
Hi Carmen, fein such Kahn and Shephard is representing baxter financial and is suing me for a debt that I have no knowledge of. I need to speak with an fdcpa attorney as this case is very complicated and i a, There was a judgment entered against me in 2008. A complaint was served to an address i hadn't lived in since 2006. I found out about the judgment when my account was levied in December last year. I got the judgment vacated in january 2014. trial was set for March 31. they filed a reconsideration motion the day we had that snowstorm and by the time i received the motion in the mail the 2 days had passed. I'd rather not give out my last name at this time. After what I'm dealing with i don't want to share too much information until i can speak to someone!

Hi Patricia. Debt collectors cannot sue you after the statute of limitations as the debt is considered "time-barred". They can continue to contact you, however. You have a few options with time-barred debts, including not paying it, doing a partial payment, or paying it off for a reduced amount. Hi Gekell. If the debt is that old, it is more than likely outside of the statute of limitations (depending on where you live) and would be considered time-barred. I am not sure if you can help but they hold a HESSA student loan of my sons and i am co-signer they keep adding interest that does not seem legal and there is no regular statements and no way to know if our funds will ever go to Principle We have not paid in a couple years because of Covid and we assumed there was a freeze on the accounts but were told no they are not under the covid protection. The amount due went from 74,000 to 91,000 in 2 years and i am positive we never even saw half of that amount in the loan amount. can you help?
This law firm is telling me that they are going to garnish my pay for a dept that is 20 years old. but the thing is that someone use my information to have a phone put in their home.

But havent been able to find an attorney to help us at this time. Not even to respond to the court. I am afraid to try and respond on our own. Can you help us at all. I am 72 & my husband is 78. The Repo & sale of our Motorhome was in 2020 to 2021.
