Hillcrest, Davidson, and Associates have contacted me over non-payment of a contract with Monotronics (now Moni), home monitoring. In brief, there have been several instances where there has been a delay of over five minutes between the time my alarm has gone off, and the time they called my residence. The last time this happened, the gap was over twenty minutes. I sent Moni a letter stating since their performance is unsatisfactory, I am canceling their service. I received an average of two phone calls per day from a collection agency, which I told from day one; since I was not receiving the service I was paying for, I would no longer be paying. But, the calls continued. I no longer answered the phone (caller ID). Calls stopped until today when I got a phone call from Hillcrest. I once again relayed my story and reiterated my stance. The agent, Tyler King, told me he would be obligated to report the nonpayment dropping my credit score (now at 793) by 140 points. He offered a compromise of a partial payment. He asked me to make an offer and he would check with his supervisor. I told him to go first. He offered $505 on a balance of $585. (I laughed) I countered with $250 – told him to check with his supervisor and call me back ( I had a doctor’s appointment.) That is his tone changed and said we had to settle it then and there. Sorry, but for me, that was crossing the line! I think my credit score of 793 stands in testimony of how responsible and trustworthy I am in meeting my financial obligations. By the same token, I refused to be bullied into payng for or accepting inferior service!

Got a call today from what sounded like a process servicing company asking me when I would be around at the address they had to be served a certified letter. When I asked them who they represent they gave me a number 1-855-418-1711. I called that number and again asked who they represented and I was told they were an answering service and I would be transferred. I was then transferred and a to a lady. When I asked her who she was representing she said something about a claim with Hillcrest. I asked her who that law firm was representing, and she said I would have to speak to someone else after she got info from me. I told her I wasn't giving any info and she said she wasn't going to waste more time. After I hung up they called back and left a message that if I did not call they would proceed without any further notice of permission. I am in the mortgage business and I know that they have to disclose who they represent. They have been calling me every day, most of the time not leaving any messages. I only owe one doctor for any debts that can be collected at this time. The other are more than 5-7 years old, but I see they are being picked up by other collection agencies putting them back on my credit, So assume this may be one of them. I'm not interested in going after them - unless there is some class action. From the internet it sounds like they are doing illegal collecting procedures!

I’ve seen a near $700 collection on my credit report from Hillcrest & Davidson. I have no idea what this is for or where it is from. Can y’all assist in figuring this out?
