My Mom got a call from a "collection" agency stating that I took out a payday loan. When they called, all they said was the legal division. I called them to see what was going on, it didn't sound legit. They told me that their name is Riverside Portfolio Management and working with Platinum Holdings. I looked it up on the BBB because they said that they could garnish my wages. I never received a letter or anything from them stating this, just a phone call!

This company called first from a local number saying they wanted to serve me papers for a debt owed back in 2012. When I said what is it about, the gentleman asked me, oh you don't know what it's about. Let me give you a different number to call. I called it and spoke to a gentleman who was pleasant and seemed willing to work with me to make payment arrangements, but needed to get approval, thus putting me on hold twice to ask permission. He than said the amount of the debt originally was $1,100 if settled in full today, if not, I would owe $1,1700 and something dollars. I did not have the amount of money available, so it was in my interest to make arrangements because they sounded so legit and scary! I asked to see documentation, and was told later I'd get an email which never came. Beware! Get it in paper or writing! First hint! Next I proceeded to give credit card info. Mistake number 1! Don't give financial info to these people! I was told I'd be charged first payment Tuesday, and it wasn't withdrawn till Saturday. Suspicion! When I checked my Bank account and saw it was from this company Platinum Holdings, I looked it up with Google. To my horror, I see all these negative scam reviews, not to mention a video on what these people do! SCARY TACTICS! HOW DO THESE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT? I was immediately dumbfounded and pissed, knowing I got scammed! NEVER AGAIN! YOU LOSERS! I WILL BEAT YOU! I stopped the payment process and notified my bank! Do Not Trust these scammers and report them! Let people know. Let's fight back! BLOCK THEIR NUMBERS TOO! YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT TO GET THINGS IN WRITING. As per the fair credit act of 1978. Platinum Holdings Group is claiming to have bought a charged off account form a Payday loan company and I am just about 100% sure that I paid that loan off 6 years ago. They claim that they sent me a validation letter in the mail but, they NEVER did. The phone number for the loan company is a number for a company with the same name (LOAN SHOP) but, it isn't a payday loan company. Platinum Holdings are threatening to sue me for $1200.00 and will not send me any proof of the loan. What are my rights?!

Platinum holding keeps calling Harassing us. There calling my mothers house leaving multiple voice mails. She told then we dont live there not to call. They repetitively keep calling.

I am hoping you can help me. I have been getting calls from platinum Holdings about a date this is 8 years old. They called my work and are threatening to sue me. But when I asked for a debt verification letter they refuse to give me one. I don't know what to do.
