Two Men Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Rock County

Two men were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash near Brodhead in Rock County on Wednesday morning, officials announced.

According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 6:03 a.m. December 9 at the intersection of County T and Highway 81. A 33-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Captiva north on County T reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. He crashed into an Infinity driven by a 63-year-old man who was eastbound on Highway 81, police said. The impact caused both vehicles to continue through the intersection before stopping in a ditch in the northeast side.

The driver of the Infinity was trapped in his car and had to be extricated. The driver of the Captiva suffered significant injuries but was able to exit his vehicle before it caught on fire, according to a news release. Both men were transported to area hospitals for treatment; the exact extent of their injuries and condition is unknown at this time.

The sheriff’s office hasn’t provided any more details about the incident. It is unclear if any charges or citations will be filed in the case. The investigation is ongoing.

As the investigation into the Brodhead crash continues, the man who was injured in the collision may be entitled to a personal injury claim.
