This company has "attached" itself to my student loans; in the amount of $8,900 fees so far. I am 61 years old, in pretty good help except I am disabled with my left leg and depression. I cannot work which saddens me as I had planned to use both degrees in an office setting. I have no money at all. I have lived in a Nursing Home for 3 years waiting for Social Security to decide my case. I am now in the process of moving in to an Assisted Living Place. They do not cover all the expenses, therefore I need Fees & Costs of Account Control Technology to be handled. $180.91 per month taken out of my Social Security DISABILITY check will make it very difficult to live.

The first and only time I heard about account control technology is when my employer sent a writ of garnishment to my company email. It says I had a 9000 student loan debt that is now 32000. I called the number on the writ and it sends me to voicemail. I left two voicemails asking for a call back and also if they could please mail me documents to support that I owe this debt. I have not received either and my wages are being garnished for 2 months now plus they took our tax refund too.

I was just contacted by ACT and agreed to pay. Is there anything that can be done? It is a student loan from about 1990.
