On August 30, 2013, a 9-year-old boy was struck by an officer’s squad car in Aurora, and his leg was injured. The boy and his brother ran across a street and into the path of the car in a heavy thunderstorm, at about 7 p.m. on the 30th. The boy’s injury is not life-threatening; he was taken to a hospital offering specialty care in pediatric orthopedics
