If you or a loved one has fractured a bone from an accident, contact Mike Agruss Law for a free consultation so we can help you recover from this experience and get fairly compensated.

A fractured ankle occurs when one or both of the ankle bones, including the tibia and fibula, crack or break due to a strong impact. This can make walking or putting any type of pressure on your ankle or leg difficult and very painful, depending on the severity and location of the fracture. The broken bone(s) need time and rest to immobilize the area and ensure that everything stays in place.

It would not be a good idea to have anyone, for that matter, walk on a fractured ankle since it could be painful, it could exacerbate the injury, and it could also prolong the recovery time. It would be a particularly bad idea for children since their bones are not as strong as they could be and they are still growing. Anyone with a fractured ankle must take special measures to ensure that no pressure is put on the ankle. This is done with a splint, ankle boot, crutches, or any of the aforementioned options after surgery, in which case one should absolutely not walk on their fractured ankle.
