I was just served today over what must be (if valid) a 6 year old account. They never attempted to reach me. The home address they filed in legal proceedings is at least 5 years old and my cell account is under my boyfriend's name. So their assertion to the contrary is a bald lie.

I just received a request and writ for garnishment of my income tax refund from Convergence Receivables and have no clue what it's about. They sent the mail to my parents house, which I have resided in years. I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy and it was discharged in April of this year and anything on my credit report that showed as negative was included in my bankruptcy. Can someone possibly give me some possible insight on what this could possibly be? It doesn't even say what it's about or who it's pertaining to.

I had a judgement filed against me from Convergence Receivables, LC back in 2009 I was stearnly instructed I needed to pay so I did without ever getting any verification of the debt I owed on a closed account from Wells Fargo Bank from a few years prior. I would make payments to an address then a few months later I would be sent a letter and the agency had a different name and would appear to have no knowledge of my past payments. I today attempted to make a payment to the Fenton & McGarvey Law Firm P.S.C ...the latest account holder and when speaking with a representative I was informed I would need to call Convergence Receivables L.C at 855-312-2353 ( which when I called is no longer in service). I keep getting the run around, have paid on what i was told was a judgement against me with no proof, I want to know where I go from here I want it off my credit report. Please HELP me!

A couple of months ago they sent me something in my the mail about the same thing and said if there was nothing to find it would be over with and now I got this one yesterday and said they were trying to move the case to Monroe county court to collect a debt. Vonvergence Receivables filed a case against me. They never notified me. They filed a default judgement through the NJ Superior Court. I have not lived in NJ in 5.5 years. This was apparently an account with TD Bank. I closed the account because of their overdraft policies - the one they had a class action suit against. I closed the account in 2010 but apparently Convergence Collections filed against me in 2016. They sent mail to that address but since no one sent it back they considered it "good service" and then when I did not respond - because I was not notified - they executed an order to take money out of my bank account. I just found out about this about 20 minutes ago so unfortunately I do not have additional info though I am trying to get the court records to see what happened!

Bank account garnishment

Do you help sue a creditor/plaintiff law firm over a garnishment? I am being garnished over an account that was charged off/closed back in 2005/2006 I believe. When the account was closed the balance was between 4k-6k, now they have miraculously ballooned it up to $41k! How is this even legal? Back in 2021, I caught them red handed taking more money from my check than Iowa law allows and filed a complaint with the Iowa Attorney General. They were made to give the overage amount back but keep coming back every year. I was badly injured at the time from an on the job accident and was not working back when the account was closed/charged off. I\'m an honest person, not a deadbeat and I am fine paying what I owe and possibly even a little more but $41k is ridiculous and quite a LARGE difference. I\'m debating if it makes sense to go after these crooks or to file Chapter 7. Please let me know your thoughts. I prefer an email response please. Thank you!

I was just served papers, at my place of employment, for some case from H&S Financial assignee of Convergence Recievables from Iowa, which I moved from in 2012. I looked up the case # and it says it was created in March of 2015 and had a \"disposition staus\" on 4/27/15 of \"other judgement\". Not sure what this is about and papers don\'t even say who I am supposed to contact or why but I have 20 days from 1/23/24 and I was just served them today, 2/15/24.
