A three car crash on August 16, 2013 in Peoria, Illinois, killed one man and injured two women. The accident happened at East Elaine Avenue and North Knoxville Avenue, around eight in the morning. Virginia Schriner was turning left into Proctor Hospital; a car traveling south hit her car, pushing her car into another car stopped at a red light. Virginia’s husband and passenger, John D. Schriner, 78, was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. in the emergency room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Virginia was brought to the same hospital, as was the driver of the car that hit her. The accident is still under investigation; neither speed, alcohol, nor drugs, were involved.
