I signed a retail installment agreement (15 year term) for a manufactured home in April of 1998 that involved an amount financed of roughly $30,000 ...I have excellent credit (zero delinquencies) and paid Greentree over $70,000 in the past fifteen years. The last payment was suppossed to be made in April of this year yet they continued to roughhouse and hassle me (calling friends that weren't even listed as references) out of an additional six payents including double payments and paying off all late fees. Now they say I have a pay-off amount of $21,000 ....I asked them what happens after I make my last payment (which was done two weeks ago)...how much is the payment? I was told you don't have one but you owe us $21,000 and we'll "work it out".....What about my credit? are you going to report is as delinquent?....I was told "not if you work with us".... I received an invoice from Greentree showing I owe them $21,000 dollars and the payment amount due i s completely blank....now the harrassing phone calls are coming in...I log on to Greentree's shoddy website and on there they show the next payment amount due is $5,500 ...help please...

My wife and I had a mortgage with BOA. Our loan was sold to Green Tree. Green Tree at first said they did not get our payments and started threatening foreclosure. We were not even behind on payments. The payments we made to BOA just did not transfer over so they wanted us to pay twice. We finally got that settles but ended up having to pay fees on top of our mortgage payment. After that we tried setting up payments on line with Green Tree and no matter how we tried to pay, on line or by mailing a check, somehow payments were always made to be late and extra fees were adding. We could not win with this guys. I ended up refinancing and lost about $5000 I believe in refinance costs. We are now with Quicken Loans and all of the problems we had have gone away. Is it possible to recoup any of the losses from having to deal with Green Tree against our will?

When Ditech bought my mortgage from GreenTree, trouble started. Many calls and lots of frustration about incorrectly posted payments, escrow record problems and etc. Customer reps seem indifferent and don't resolve the problem. I would refinance but my house is paid for in a couple of years. Possibly the worst company I have dealt with in my life. My loan was sold from Greentree to Ditech soon after a death in the family (my ex-husbands suicide). I have sent death certificates…divorce settlement papers…every document needed to get my deceased ex-husbands name off the loan and yet they continue to send me documents with his name on them years after his death. This is very disturbing considering I have children who get the mail and it is very disturbing seeing his name on the envelopes. Trying to pay for a home due to death and having more financial burden than I should, I became late on payments. I have since re-married and we are still experiencing financial difficulties. I just want simple changes made to the mortgage...like just my name on the deed and explanations as to why and where they are shifting my payment monies to and finally...why my monthly payments continue to grow without explanation. Ditech calls me all hours of the day, talking nasty to me, acting like I am a criminal. Reps are pushy and rude. They even call me from different numbers because I started avoiding their calls and then would transfer me to my account rep. My account rep told me to call and make a payment arrangement which is a week out. I called once I knew exactly when I could pay and was told that unless I was paying "today" to just mail my payment. I get off the phone and ten minutes later another phone call from Ditech I'm now past due and they act like it's been months. I bet they've called me over 25 times in the past week. My payments have shot up over $150.00 in the past year with no explanation as to why. Unexplained added fees and taxes have been added also. Very unprofessional, rude, mean, nasty, and terrible customer service. The worst I have ever experienced. I think if this company is not stopped they will continue to take advantage of the middle class people and drive people from their homes just so they can make a quick profit. These people are crooks. To make a payment over the phone costs $20. If you mail it magically gets lost or detained every single month so they can charge a late fee and they won't let you make payments online unless you are caught up on payments. This is an awful company. I can't find a single satisfied customer! Has anyone else noticed peculiar Interest/Principal adjustments on their statements? I’ve asked twice in writing for detailed explanation of these adjustments and get the same general reply stating Actuarial Interest is calculated based on 30-day increment. They continue to state that the interest is charged whether you pay early or late. Hmm, if I pay early or late the same interest applies. This tells me that so long as I’m within the grace period that there would be no adjustments required. OK, but wait. If no adj are required then how does this explain the dozen or so debit and credit adjustments? This explanation does not pass the smell test. If smells like a skunk, it might just be a skunk. I’m very interested to know if there are others who’s payments are otherwise always made on time but have begun to see peculiar adjustments on their statements. Even small adjustments of just a few cents multiplied by thousands or perhaps m
