A fractured bone can get fairly burdensome for some people to bear over periods of time. This is because they have jobs to get to, kids to tend to, and their own everyday activities to complete. But, there are ways to expedite the process of healing. If you or a loved one has fractured a bone from an accident, contact Mike Agruss Law for a free consultation so we can help you recover from this experience and get fairly compensated.

After an accident resulting in a fractured bone, you are likely limited in mobility in some way. You may need to avoid walking, avoid moving your arms or fingers, or even your whole body if you have severely broken ribs. While it does take time to heal a bone, there are a few ways that this healing process can be shortened.

First, you should adopt healthy lifestyles. This means eating a healthy, balanced diet, stopping smoking, and consuming multivitamins every day. These things will help maintain your bone’s strength and blood flow so that your bones receive the blood’s nutrients that are needed to heal. You should also take antioxidants, protein supplements, and mineral supplements to best strengthen your bone. Also, you must adhere to your doctor’s treatment plan. Your doctor knows what they are talking about and will give you the best, safest, and fastest treatment. You should follow each form of treatment that they provide you exactly. This may include physical therapy, crutches, a cast, medications, and more. Physical therapy, in particular, will help you recover best so that you can move the area normally and effectively after the recovery period.

Also, there are additional healing techniques for those who want to heal especially quickly. These are not known to always speed up recovery, however, they may help some people normally heal their injury. One particular treatment is called electrical stimulation, which uses two skin electrodes placed on either side of the bone (from the outside) to pass a current from a low voltage battery though the body. This is supposed to cause bone cells to divide and multiply so that the bone mends with these sessions of treatment. It is controversial for which injuries they are effective and if they are effective at all, but you may speak with your doctor to get their opinion on how it may help you and your specific injury.
