I applied several times for Teachers Loan forgiveness after I completed five years of teaching. The first time I applied they denied me because the application was dated June 21st instead of June 28th. I didn’t find out it was denied till several months later when I had to call to ask what the status was. The representative then explained to me that I need to complete a new application with a current date. I reapplied and sent it out. I again had to call to see what the status was on my application only to find out it was denied again because the application I filled out was expired (meanwhile it was the same application I filled out before) My concern is why didn’t Navient inform me the first time that the application was expired along with the fact that the date (June 21st was too soon). They only informed me that the date was incorrect. So I again filled out another application. Unfortunately this time it was my principals fault since he did not put his title. However, I had him correct it and I resent it. Today, I called Navient to find out what the status of my application was. The representative was unable to assist me so I requested to speak to a supervisor. The Supervisor Judith ID# C35311 was very polite in helping me. However, she stated that there was still something wrong with my application. She explained to me what it was. Now what REALLY upsets me is two things First, A Sallie Mae representative misguided me when I asked her whether or not I should check off that portion of the application. She said yes!! Secondly, that portion of the application has been the same since I applied the second time WHY DIDNT THEY MAKE ME CORRECT IT THE FIRST TIME I REAPPLIED. Why when they sent me the corrections in the mail why didn’t they say that along with the principals title missing in the application you also filled this section out incorrectly.
