I have 2 student loan accounts with Navient. In February of 2010 I was contacted saying I still owed money on an account with them I thought was paid off. Once they clarified what the problem was I agreed to pay the remaining balance. Again, I thought I had paid the remaining balance because I never got another bill or statement saying otherwise. In December of 2010 I was contacted again saying I still owed money and again agreed to pay of what was left. Again, I never received any notification otherwise. 1 yr and 11 months later, I am being contacted for the same account!! They have sent nothing in writing and I do not have a working home phone thus the recorder says do not leave messages. They say they have been calling for 7 months. I have nothing from them in writing except this last letter threatening to turn me over to collections. SO I called. Per their records and my calculations I owe $22.58!!!! They asked me to pay at total of $167 or the equivalent of $144.42 in fees. No one is willing to work with us on this. We spoke with Lori Employee id# 56892 whom spoke with the Charge Off Supervisor Mr. Page (ID#58052). Mt Page states there is nothing wrong with what they did. Ignoring an account for 1 year and 11 months is nothing? I beg to differ. The interest and late fees would not have accumulated and everything would have been settled in a timely manner
