I have an outstanding balance with Sanford-Brown College in Vienna. Formerly known as Gibbs College when I attended. The $8,691.91 pertains to my tuition fees for leaving the school. I was put on probation after the first quarter of the new school year and then told to leave the school after a dispute pertaining to my grades in two classes in which I had good attendance and work ethic. I asked to have a meeting with my teacher and head of Visual Communications Department pertaining to the unsatisfactory grades I received. The Head of Visual Communications Department as well as the Vice President of Education refused to consider my request and overlooked it, leading to a dispute and termination from the program. Because my situation was not looked at and handled properly, I refuse to pay the tuition fee because of lack of consideration on the schools part. I am an exemplary student and always attended and completed my work. I feel that there was illegitimate reason to my situation. I owe $34,611 in school loans to Sallie Mae for attending Gibbs College just to be abruptly put out. Again I did good work, had perfect attendance and completed everything asked of me, this loan amount as well as the tuition fee has put a burden on the continuance of my education in order to complete my bachelors degree. Fortunately I was able to receive my Associates degree in Graphic Design from Westwood College in 2009. I have reached the maximum loan amount students are able to receive from The Department of Education therefore preventing me to take out anymore free loans causing private loans to be taken out. I do not have the funds needed to take out private loans preventing me to continue my Bachelor Degree endeavors.
