On August 18, 2013, a motorcyclist lost his life in Geneva, Illinois, after crashing into a tree. James R. Stevens, 58, was turning north on Kautz Road from Illinois Route 38 when he lost control of his 1985 Honda motorcycle for reasons unknown. The accident happened a little before three in the afternoon; the bike slid off the west side of the road and then hit a tree, and Stevens was not wearing a helmet. No one witnessed the crash, but passing drivers soon called the authorities. Stevens was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, where he was pronounced dead.
