Navient has for several months consistently harassed me by phone placing up to 8 calls per day asking for an individual that has absolutely nothing to do with me. It uses automated systems and pre-recorded messages that that make it impossible to speak to a person without verifying that you are that person. Also they will switch up their phone numbers every so often as I had it on silent. On 1/2/2013 Sallie Mae called and I answered and a females answered asking for “Kevin” I told her that they keep calling for this person and this is the incorrect number they continuously call and to remove me from their database immediately. One hour after this call I received another call from Sallie Mae, I answered again but this time I received the automated recording which requires me to verify I am this person which I am not. So I reversed dialed the number and finally got through to a live person and demanded them to take my number off. This stopped the continuous daily calls for about 2 weeks. On 1/15/2013 – Sallie Mae calls started again from phone number 302-283-4083 daily and 8 time per day. Obviously Sallie Mae refuses to comply and continues to harass me on my phone. I have filed a complaint with the FTC as well as with the FCC for this issue and I will use every outlet available to me to make Sallie Mae comply. I will also retain an attorney that will pursue this under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act as they call my cell phone and under the Act this provision applies “Prohibits any call made using automated telephone equipment or an artificial or prerecorded voice to an emergency line (e.g., “911”), a hospital emergency number, a physician’s office, a hospital/health care facility/elderly room, a cellular telephone, or any service for which the recipient is charged for the call.”
