Navient was sent a consolidation payment twice last year in the sum of $115,000. On both times they rejected the check from the buy out company and refused to inform me of the refusal of payment. I musty have called Sallie MAE 10 times to dispute this and ant no point was I ever told why they refused the buyout twice. Finally after an investigation Sallie Mae told me I did not include both student loans on my paperwork. I only included a loan for $80,000. That can not be true since the buy out company sent them a total of $115,000 and told me that all paperwork was completed in full. Since the summer of 2012 Sallie Mae has been charging me late fees for the time they were investigating their mistake. Now as of 11/1/12 I completed a new loan consolidation application and yet again Direct loans sent Sallie Mae $114,780.65 to buy out my student loan. Now Sallie MAE is again telling me I owe them $185 for late fees.
