Today, consumers receive more robocalls and unsolicited text messages than ever. Technology is the reason. Companies use autodialers to send out thousands of phone calls and text messages every minute for an incredibly low cost. What is a robocall? If you pick up the phone and hear a recorded message instead of a live person, that’s a robocall. Similarly, if someone leaves you a prerecorded message, that’s a robocall, too. If the recording is a sales message, and you haven’t given your written permission to get calls from the company on the other end, then the call is illegal. Period. So, what should you do when you get a robocall? Hang up the phone. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list. Then, contact Mike Agruss Law, for a free consultation. The Federal Trade Commission has stopped billions, yes billions, of robocalls in the last two years. Mike Agruss Law, will do the same for you. We will aggressively enforce the law to stop robocalls. Not only will we stop the calls, but you may be entitled to money damages, too.Damages in TCPA cases range from $500.00 – $1,500.00 per call or text. Recently, Jiffy Lube agreed to pay $47 million to settle claims in a text spam class action lawsuit. Sallie Mae also recently settled a class action for $25 million to settle claims it placed automated or prerecorded phone calls to its customers’ cell phones. Hi Jeff, You're not alone.I even get the occasional robocall or unsolicited text message on my cell phone. What number is calling you 10 times a day? First, you should register / re-register your cell phone number on the do not call list at https://www.donotcall.gov/ You also have rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"). Under the TCPA, you're entitled to $500 per call. Plus, if the company continues to call you using a dialer after you said stop, as is the case here, you can ask for damages up to $1500 per call. My office can also send this company a cease and desist request. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further. Thanks, Mke

Hi Lita, First, you should re-register all of your phone numbers on the do not call list at https://www.donotcall.gov/ Next, if you are receiving these calls on your cell phone, you can block phone numbers on your cell phone. Let's discuss all of the numbers calling you. I'll figure out if there's anything else i can help you do to stop the call. You are protected under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Thanks, Mike.

I've been receiving endless calls from (423) 477-2488 for over a week now. All times of day and evening. My home phone will only ring once as I have a 'NoMoRobo' program currently on my home line. But since this program is geared for grabbing robo-dialers and spoofed numbers, they can't get beyond one ring. This doesn't seem to deter them from continuously trying though. This tells me that no one is manning the phones at all. I have never had any dealings with CitiFinancial before and you can be assured I would never do so now. I have worked in credit and collections for over six years and find business practices like this nothing short of bottom-feeder behavior. What can be done to enforce companies such as this to cease and desist?

I've had them call me repeatedly. Number after number. I told them that I lost my hours at work and will give them what I can afford. Now it's everyday all day long - they harass me and it feels like I can't get a break. I block one number an then a new number starts calling.
