Is Direct TV harassing you over a debt? Is Direct TV placing robocalls to you or sending you unsolicited text messages? You have rights under state and federal laws! We will aggressively enforce the law to stop this harassment. Not only will we stop the harassment, but you may be entitled to money damages, too. Finally, you won’t have to pay us a dime for our services. Keep reading to learn about your rights.

Direct TV, Inc. is a U.S. television service provider; Direct TV offers several levels of TV service packages, from its corporate headquarters in El Segundo, CA. You pay them a flat monthly fee, for a set length of time (most of their contracts start at a year).

What happens, though, if you find yourself in financial difficulty and you cannot pay your Direct TV bill? Well, you’re not alone. If Direct TV is contacting you to collect a debt, whether you owe it or not, Direct TV must follow the law. Direct TV is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, but the agency has received nearly 10,000 complaints on Direct TV’s billing and payments department, in just the last year (and over 10,000 on Direct TV’s products). And, Direct TV was subject to a massive government lawsuit, affecting customers in 49 states, over its deceptive business practices—a settlement was reached in 2010.

If Direct TV has done anyone of the following, contact Mike Agruss Law, for a free case evaluation:

• Called you after you told them to stop calling you.

• Called you about a debt you do not owe.

• Continued to call you after you have told the collector you cannot pay the debt.

• Communicated (phone or letter) with you after you filed for bankruptcy.

• Communicated (phone or letter) with you after you told the collector you have a lawyer.

• Called you before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.

• Called you at work after you told the collector you cannot receive such calls at work.

• Left you a voicemail message without saying the company’s name.

• Called third parties (family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors).

• Threatened legal action against you.

• Placed robocalls to you.

• Sent you unsolicited text messages.

If Direct TV has done any of the above, you may be entitled to money damages. Plus, you won’t have to pay us a dime for our services. Founding attorney, Michael Agruss, has settled over 1,500 debt collection harassment cases. Now, we want to you help you, too. Contact Mike Agruss Law, at 888-572-0176 for a free consultation.

So disappointed. My husband signed up for service. He was charged over 300.00 for credit deposit. We were given a two year contract. The tech came out and installed the equipment and then within an hour....service was turned off. Why? Because his wife had a previous account that was owed. It was under her name not his. They refused to turn services on until that amount was paid. The issue is why would Direct Tv go ahead and lock my husband into a contract for two years, take his money, a 329.00 deposit, and have equipment installed, leave us no written contract and then tell us they can't turn on services. AND they will not refund the 329.00 deposit now. Very, very disappointed in this service. Breach of contract on your part Direct TV. Leni Atkinson Now, we are even trying to make arrangements to pay the bill, even if they will attatch a portion to the monthly bill every month but they will not even work with us on that. My husband is a firefighter, paramedic and he works hard to save lives. This is nonscence that Direct TV will not even cooperate. Leni Atkinson We were seperated at the time, he was not living with me. He should not be responsible. He was unaware I had Direct TV at the time. I was being diagnosed for a rare auto immune disease for which I was hospitalized many, many times. I received plasma infusions and was paralyzed. I tried to send the receivers back at that time but Direct Tv would not send boxes out and I was wheelchair bound and bed bound, unable to send them out.

moved to a new house back in August of 2009,once the phone was connected,i have no idea how but within 2-3 weeks after we moved received a call from direct TV ,a young woman was trying to talk me in to signing up with direct tv,i asked for the length of service and i said if you agree to give me a 1 year subscription i am interested, otherwise just forget about it as i'm not commit myself to some service i never had,if the service and quality was good,i'd renew.she accepted and set up a time for the techs to come in and install it.couple of techs showed up and started to work, one of them could not either speak english or understand what i was telling him,and the other one wasso so ,first they spent some time on the roof, then they dropped the co-ax cable and did such a lame job outside, they did not bother even hide it or at lest drop it all the way down,i just came across this website and it's dark outside, otherwise i'd show you what a lame job they did the wire is about 3-4 ft off the ground on the wall, and this is a long wall, they even picked a wrong area to drill the hole for the co-ax wire to come in,making it short after the installation was complete and they did their fine tuning,i was trying not only watch them but get familiar with the remote,etc....my spouse was not home at the time.the minute they were ready to leave the one who was speaking some how broken English pulled out a 2 page long (form similar to contract) that customers need to sign after installation which according to him, everything works and i'm satisfy that's all.i said that looks like a contract, you should have given it to me when you came in so i have time to read it,they were both had their bags in their hands like they need to leave and he replied no no,it's about equipment and also the fact that installation is done.i had a bad feeling,i signed it,they left a copy and took off.after couple of hours, when my spouse was back,i decided to take a look at that long form, and as i had this feeling, they had stuck the 2 year term somewhere that you need to know in advance where to look for.i called them once and i had theat young woman's name.i explained to them that she promised me and she is working for your company, you did change the rule in the middle of the game.you sent 2 guys barely speak English and last minute he asks me to sign that i'm satisfied with the installation and that's how you got my signature on your 2 years contract, but i'll ship the unit back to you after the first year is over as she (your agent) promised me.i did exactly the same,i don't remember how much i paid to send it back certified back in 2010,but since that date up to now that a collection agency keeps calling early in the morning, couple of times i answered the phone, they mentioned my name i said what do you need and once they mentioned about direct TV,i told them ask the company what happened and don't call back.they also keep renewing the date and report to all 3 credit agencies, which after 7 years it's suppose to come off but they are breaking every single rule of ethics.that's what happened to me.they are very desperate,if i work for a company i represent them, for my commission if i lie to get my bonus,etc....the company needs to question me if they are not together with me. in this case i guess she was told to accept my 1 year offer but they knew one way or the other once the installation is completed they have got you.i'll call Mr.Agruss tomorrow to discuss this, but be careful and have them give you the contract before they go on the roof.read and then authorize.thanks for being patient to read this. cheers john

I am being harassed by Directv\ATT regarding an unpaid bill. I’m 68 years old and I’m on Social Security. Last October I called Directv cancelling my service because I was unemployed and could no longer afford the service. I returned the equipment and was told I would be receiving a credit. Instead I was billed for one more month and a termination fee. I was a Directv customer for many years and I just could no longer afford the service. I’m now receiving threats of sending the account to collections. I see you have great success with Directv\ATT and I need your help.
