Legal Recovery Law Offices is a law firm working for collection agencies; it’s been in business since 2002. Legal Recovery Law Offices is headquartered in San Diego, California. Legal Recovery Law Offices is a full-service collection agency, which uses various software programs to trace people and gather information on them. According to its website, Legal Recovery Law Offices claims, “Legal Recovery Law Offices strictly adheres to the provisions dictated in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.” However, according to its track record, Legal Recovery’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the FDCPA. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collectors can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), Legal Recovery Law Offices has been sued over 70 times in the last two years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for Legal Recovery Law Offices on the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau has received 46 complaints on Legal Recovery Law Offices in the last three years alone.

I had a judgment vacated in June 2013 against Capital One thru Legal Recovery Law Offices. I just received a letter from LRLO stated I did not answer their interrogatories in a timely manner. Can they do this with the judgment vacated? Not sure what you need - perhaps you can ask questions & I will answer!

Earlier I was asking for help but had to go to work, so I will start over. My husband is about to get his wages garnish by LRLO for a Capital One debt over five years old, with possibly a balance of $500.00 original debt, I don't think it was that high, but the yearly fee and late charges at the time brought to that which made it hard to catch up, we were going through tough times. Anyway, we sadly blew it off, then he was summons in Sept. of 2010 for the amount about $ 1450.00. We tried to stop it and were able to make arrangements to pay $100 a month. Then we moved. So I requested a balance and payoff amount and they sent it to us via our new address. We paid for quite a few months, so I would say to balance was at least, down to 350.00 maybe less, wanted to know the balance and they never responded. We again got hit hard with no money, so I sadly let it go. Well apparently, they went to court without our knowledge and it seems to be dated, 12-10-12, and then another date for 11-02-13, and yet another on 9-16-13, all this without contacting us so we can defend ourselves. Is there a way to stop the garnishment, it will kill us to loose 25% during the holidays, my husbands job always slows during this time it will put us under, all for $500.00 original!

Been dealing with LRLO for about three years, they sent a summons three years ago, we tried to fight, never went to court, agreed to $100 month payments. Pay every month for about 5 months, moved, let them know, ask for balance and got it. Started paying again seemed like forever. Requested balace again for payoff amount. Total bill was only 1400.00$ They never answered. Just received notice from job of garnishment, for some crazy amount of 1800.00$ never got notice of trail and know they have new address, noticed on judgement old address. What do I do? I know the balance was really low the last time contact was made under $300.00 and never got back to us. Now being garnished for $1800.00 with no proof of any previous payments of anything. Oh yeah, this is my husband debt, he is at work and I about to leave. His name is Jeffrey W. Uhlig, guess that would help. Thanks. We can not afford a garnishment, really need to know if this can be worked out. Just need peace, willing to settle, if they would back off our small but necessary to live on income!
