Is Metro Collection Service harassing you over a debt? Stop the harassment. Get Money. And you won’t pay us a dime for our services. Whether you owe the debt or not, you are protected under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Metro Collection Service is a collection agency that has been in business since 2008. Metro Collection Service is headquartered in Aurora, Colorado. Metro Collection Service is a full-service collection agency, which uses various software programs to trace people and gather information on them. Metro Collection Service collects on accounts for property management companies, health care providers, and retailers.

According to its website, Metro Collection Service claims, “MCS will never overstep the bounds of ethical and professional conduct in our efforts to collect your accounts.” However, according to its track record, Metro Collection Service’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the FDCPA. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collectors can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), Metro Collection Service has been sued five times in the last two years for debt collection harassment. The Better Business Bureau has received 14 complaints on Metro Collection Service in the last three years,

Hello. I was on the phone trying to negotiate with Metro Collections, and the representative lied to me. He told me a default judgement against my husband had been ordered. Then said they were filing one against me also. I was not aware of this, so I went to the court house and no actions have been taken. Can you help us, even though we are in Colorado?

In 2015, I became aware thru credit monitoring that Metro Debt Collections had reported to all three credit bureaus that I was negligent on an overdue bill that I was never contacted about by Metro Debt Collections. Since then, I have disputed this with all three credit bureaus and was successful in clearing this erroneous report off of my credit. One year later, Metro has once again contacted me and reported this to the credit bureaus. I feel as if they were absolutely in the wrong in 2015 without ever notifying me of the bill in question which took me 4 months to clear off of my credit report. I checked my credit report again and they have done the same this year. Their business practices do not seem to fall within the guidance of the FDCPA. What advice can you offer? Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Scott

We have been harassed by Metro Collections for the past 7years. We were sued by an apartment complex and the case was dismissed. We paid Metro over 6000.00 and they keep renewing the case and adding interest and court fees like we never paid off the dept.

I am being sued by Metro Collection Service Inc for a debt incurred by a friend that I co-signed for. Metro has been harassing me with phone calls, damaged my credit report and has now filed suit in Weld County. I Have to answer this complaint by 12/16/2016. I believe that Metro is coming after me instead of my friend because I am retired and have a home and a good credit rating. I would like to come in and speak with you for a free consultation at your convenience please. Thank you

So my Debt with metro collections is being garnished from each paycheck i receive at 20% of my Bi-weekly income. i was not paying anything for around 7 years due to the leasing agent i acquired my lease from for the apartment on the account back in 2017 had me sign the lease with only my name when it was me and my now ex-husband living in the apartment. we have been separated for about 4 years now and i have been left with the debt on my own. i contact MCS every time i get a paid to check and see how far down my credit has gone, i was also informed by the senior Collector Steven that due to a bad debt collection law here in Colorado they are allowed to enact an 8% a day interest rate which in his words (was not a lot of money ) but i feel everything adds up. my current rent is $1265 a month, Not including what i pay for electric and gas and what i will pay for groceries. My pay checks before the garnishment came out to around 1600 gross my take home was usually around 1400-1500 depending on if i receive a bonus from my job. the 20% redacted from my check is usually between $235-300 dollars taken out. My current checks in total have come out to $1,151 making me late on my current rent each cycle. i am just a bit frustrated with the outcome of the 8% a day which i feel ends up going up repeatedly even with my checks being garnished and the garnishment payments being out of my hands. I do not know too much pertaining to the laws so I\'m kind of just looking for more information on what i should do in the situation? i have saved records of the emailed conversations between the agency and myself in hoped that it can kind of help my case. i apologize for this being such a long response i just wanted to make sure i covered each detail to the issue Thank you so much
