I’m being relentlessly harassed by NFCU for the last 24 hours because I updated my mailing address and attempted to update my sons mailing address, they refused to acknowledge my durable power of attorney, stating there was a cease and desist letter on my sons account from 2018, preventing address changes? I’ve had the POA since 2021. No cease and desist was mentioned when I placed the POA. I’ve received debit cards and other correspondence at my former address. So it didn’t make sense, i started reading verbatim tte POA to ensure they had the right copy on file, the first rep hung up on me so to circumvent any misunderstandings or long hold I had already endured, I called the POA department directly. The guy Ryan was a complete asshat, and was making derogatory statements and when I called him out and asked for his supervisor he stated that’s not going to happen, and hung up on me too. All because I wanted to update my address, prompted by a text from NFCU to update my address. I made a verbal complaint to NFCU and then followed up with a secure email yesterday. Today I received 2 calls and one of my accounts, that was charged off in bankruptcy, suddenly is placed with a collection agency at 3:35 pm on a Saturday? Two very abusive calls from NFCU warning me that I was abusive to their rep, and they didn’t tolerate my behavior. They never identified themselves as a debt collector, just started rambling about my abuse toward their rep. My response was your reps were abusive to me, I am allowed to defend myself. I told the last rep I’m in a hospital on suicide watch, which was a lie, please forgive me, but it’s almost 9 pm on a Saturday and I just wanted their harassment to stop. What did they do? Called the sheriff staying I said I was suicidal. I think NFCU has grossly overstepped and violated my rights. Each time they called I documented each encounter via secure message on their portal.
