Exceptional Experience

Mike Bertucci handled my case professionally and successfully. Lakisha Joshua took time to understand my case with the utmost patience. Both Mike and Lakisha, in my opinion, are true assets to America’s Consumer Lawyer.

I had an account with the work comps and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to pay on time so they sent my account to collection trying to see if you can help me out. Thank you. Best way to contact me is through a cell phone call

I was 50% owner of a roofing company (White Tiger Roofing, LLC) in Oklahoma. The other 50% owner was Nathan Barnes. We had workers compensation insurance with Comp Source mutual in Oklahoma and our policy started in 2019. We were both listed as owners on the policy and it renewed 9/1 of each year. Our final audit when I was still a partner took place before the renewal of 9/1/22. The audit was successful and both parties were satisfied. The policy renewed on 9/1/22 while I was still an owner and I withdrew from the company on 11/21/22. I started a new roofing company (Meinert Roofing & Construction, LLC) and obtained my own policy with comp source with an effective date of 1/21/23. When I filled out this application. Comp source sent me an ERM-14 from which stated that I no longer own 50% of White Tiger Roofing and that Nathan was 100% owner. I decided to cancel my policy with comp source which ended on 3/14/2024. After completing the final audit I made my final payment yesterday. 3 hours later I receive a call from Receivable Management Services stating that I owe Comp Source Mutual $8,844.20 under the Policy for White Tiger Roofing. Nathan stopped making payments after I left and didn’t complete the audit for 2023. I told the representative with Receivable Management Services that I was no longer a partner and that Comp Source Mutual had the signed paper work of my departure. The rep said they didn’t have that paperwork and that it didn’t matter and I still owed the money. I asked why it took them almost a year to call me to let me know there was a past due balance. She stated we (acting like she’s a representative of Comp Source) don’t call people, we send them letters and she said they didn’t have my number. I said you’re calling me now, how did you get my number? She said she found it on the internet. In my opinion, Comp Source mutual intentionally didn’t tell me about the past due balance with White Tiger Roofing because I had another policy and they knew that I would drop coverage immediately. So when they saw that I cancelled my policy with Meinert Roofing they immediately sent the unpaid balance to debt collection and had them call me.
