So i got a call from 888-710-6818 and she left me her name and asked me to call her back without any mention of why she is calling and what company she is calling from. The rep wanted me to pay $405 for some debt but my credit report is clear and has no debt collection on it. My college never contacted me to pay the outstanding balance but all of the sudden i get a call from this company about debt collection which sounds strange

Hi Anne. You can tell General Revenue Corporation to stop calling, you can send them a certified cease and desist letter, and you can contact a lawyer as well. If you have any questions about this, or you'd like our help in getting General Revenue Corporation to leave you alone, give us a call at 312-224-4695. Thanks, Mike

Hi Christopher. You have a few options in dealing with debt collectors that call frequently. First, you can tell them to stop calling. You can also send a certified cease and desist letter informing them that you want them to stop. They are then only permitted to contact you in the event that they intend to sue you. If they don't stop, you can contact a lawyer to help get them to stop. My law firm would be happy to discuss this with you and I will give you a call or you can reach me at 312-224-4695. Thanks, Mike

Hi Temetria. Debt collectors are permitted to call in Sundays provided you have not informed them that it is not a good day to call. There are other rules they must abide by as well, which we can discuss when I call you. I look forward to helping. Thanks, Mike

Hi Shannon. Have you asked General Revenue Corporation to stop calling you? You absolutely have that right and if they fail to do so once you've told them to, they could be fined for being in violation of the FDCPA. I'll give you a call and we can discuss this further. Thanks, Mike

I have been receiving continuous calls from 888-710-6818. Somehow, they have themselves popping up on my phone as “account services” every time the ring in! This has been going on for quite a long time.

Well more than 10 years ago a private university made a claim for a term's tuition - that the university failed to wrap into my government student loan -as they had said they would, the program shut down and I never believed (or acknowledged) I owed anything. They flipped to a succession of debit collectors. In any event the debit is prescribed but GRC consistently calls 6 times a day 6 days a week and continues to file the debit with credit bureaus!
