Husky

When you think of sled dog racing, you probably think of the Siberian Husky, or as most people call them, Huskies. Today’s Huskies are descendants of the ancient sled dogs in northern Asia, and while most Huskies are now family pets, they still retain their working dog mentality. Working dogs often need some type of work to keep them from becoming bored and Huskies are no different. When a dog like a Husky is not properly stimulated or trained, these normally outgoing and friendly dogs can become willful and aggressive.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a dog bite attack, we at America’s Consumer Lawyer are here for you every step of the way to ensure that your rights are protected and you are fully compensated for your injuries and losses, and this includes working on your behalf to ensure a favorable settlement.

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), Huskies rank 14th out of 193 breeds in popularity in the United States. While not an overly large dog, topping out at between 50-60 pounds, Huskies are strong and have endurance and speed that makes them difficult to outrun or fend off in the event of a dog bite attack. Also, according to the AKC, Huskies are pack animals that enjoy chasing small animals, which can mean children and smaller dogs and cats can be at particular risk of a Husky dog bite attack.

The Husky has been involved in 79 attacks in the United States and Canada in the past 30 years, with 54 of these attacks involving bodily injury. Of those attacks, 49 involved children, and 5 involved an adult. The remaining 25 attacks were fatal. This statistic places the Husky 4th on the list of dangerous dogs. Under Illinois law, Husky owners are required to provide proper training and confinement for their dogs so they do not pose a risk to the general public, and you may be eligible for compensation if you’ve been attacked by a Husky.
