- Grain entrapment can be very dangerous, as more than 50% of these entrapments result in death. Always ensure that grain is sufficiently dried and properly cooled, and make sure all workers strictly follow grain bin entry procedures.
- Grain augers can pose safety risks due to their moving components. Stay clear of augers when in operation and always use the lock-out mechanism to turn off the power.
- While many farmers still use tractors that lack Rollover Protection Structures (ROPS), which have been legally required in new tractors since 1985, it is highly recommended to make use of these structures to avoid tractor-rollovers, which can result in serious injury and even death.
- For ATVs: lights, reflectors, and visible flags are highly recommended to increase visibility, and riders should always wear a helmet regardless of the speed or distance undertaken.
