I had called Navient to defer a student loan I had taken out in the past. They deferred it for me which meant I didn’t have any payments on my student loans, however they reported to the credit bureau’s that I was past due 60 days. I was not past due since I did not owe a payment. I’ve called Sallie Mae and I was told they were sorry for the mistake and they would correct it, but never did. Since then, I have paid my balance off in full because I do not want to do business with a company that reports negative facts to the credit agencies on my behalf which is inaccurate.
