Great Dane is a German breed of dog known for its extreme size with a minimum weight of 110-180 pounds that was once used as a boar hunter. Now, the Great Dane is known more as a companion dog and is generally considered a “gentle giant”. When raised and trained properly, the Great Dane makes an excellent companion for children, however, when left untrained and improperly socialized, the Great Dane can become fearful and aggressive towards people and other dogs.
