Who is PMAB, LLC?

PMAB is a third-party collection agency and collection arm of MedA/Rx, headquartered in Charlotte, NC. MedA/Rx started its business in 1988 and according the Bloomberg, MedA/Rx develops and distributes receivable collection management solutions. PMAB is a limited liability company and according to its website, PMAB provides nationwide accounts receivable management and collection services for medical financial professionalsIt appears that PMAB collects on debts owed to third parties and collects on debts that it purchases. Therefore, in some situations, PMAB may be a junk-debt buyer. For example, some collection agencies buy debt for pennies on the dollar, and then collect on it. PMAB collects on various medical debts and they are sometimes time-barred debts, which means they are past the statute of limitations. We’ve helped a lot of consumers deal with PMAB when PMAB is collecting on hospital and medical professional debts, as well as other medical debts.

PMAB Lawsuits

If you want to know just how unhappy consumers are with PMAB, take a look at the number of lawsuits filed against PMAB on the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (“PACER”). PACER is the federal docket throughout the country that lists federal complaints filed against PMAB. When you do a search for PMAB, LLC there are over 35 lawsuits filed against PMAB. Most of these lawsuits involve consumer rights’ violations.

PMAB Complaints

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) is a federal law that applies to everyone in the United States. In other words, everyone is protected under the FDCPA. The FDCPA is a laundry list of what PMAB can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt. If PMAB is harassing you over a debt, you have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) protects you from robocalls. Robocalls are those annoying, automated, recorded calls that a computer makes to you all day long. You can tell it’s a robocall because either no one is on the other end of the line or there’s a delay when you pick up the phone before a live person comes on the line. You can get $500 per call if PMAB violates the TCPA. Have you received a message from PMAB that sounds pre-recorded? Or, maybe the message you received from PMAB is cutoff at the beginning or the end? These are tell-tale signs that the message is pre-recorded. If you have these messages on your cell phone, you may have a TCPA case against PMAB.

The Electronic Fund Transfer Act (“EFTA”) protects electronic payments that are deducted from bank accounts. If PMAB took unauthorized deductions from your bank account, you may have an EFTA claim. PMAB, like most collection agencies, wants to set up reoccurring payments from consumers. Imagine how much money PMAB gets if hundreds, if not thousands, of consumers electronically pay them $50-$100, or more, per month. If you agreed to this type of reoccurring payment, PMAB must follow certain steps to comply with the EFTA. Did PMAB continue to take electronic payments after you said stop? Did PMAB take more money from your checking account than you agreed to? If so, let’s talk about your rights under the EFTA.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) works to ensure that no information reported to your credit report is false. In essence, it gives you the right to dispute those inaccuracies that you find on your credit report. We handled a lot of cases recently where PMAB reported debt on a consumer’s credit report. PMAB likely reports on credit reports to obtain greater leverage over the consumer. If PMAB is on your credit report, they may tell you if you pay the debt, they’ll remove it from your credit report. This is commonly known as pay for delete. You pay PMAB, and they delete the debt from your credit report. Even if PMAB is not on your credit report, maybe the original creditor is. If you pay off the debt to PMAB, then the original creditor, and PMAB, should accurately report this on your credit report.

Several states also have laws that provide its citizens an additional layer of protection. For example, if you live in California, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Montana, or Pennsylvania you may be able to tack on a state-law claim with your federal law claim above. North Carolina, for example, has one of the most consumer-friendly statutes in the country. If you live in NC, and you’re harassed over a debt, you may get $500.00 – $4,000.00 in damages per violation. We work with a local counsel in NC. Our NC clients have received some great results in debt collection harassment cases. If you live in NC, and PMAB is harassing you, you have tons of leverage to get a great settlement.

HOW CAN WE USE THE LAW TO HELP YOU?

We will use state and federal laws to immediately stop PMAB debt collection. We will send a cease and desist letter to get the harassment to stop the same day. If PMAB violates the FDCPA, EFTA, FCRA, or any state laws, you may be entitled to money damages. For example, under the FDCPA, you can get up $1,000.00 in damages plus actual damages. The FDCPA has a fee-shift provision. This means, PMAB pays our attorney’s fees and costs. If you have a TCPA case against PMAB, we will handle it based on a contingency fee.

THAT’S NOT ALL…

We have helped hundreds of consumers stop phone calls from PMAB. We know how to stop the harassment and get you money damages. ONCE AGAIN, you will not pay us a penny for our time. We will help you based on a fee-shift provision and/or based on a contingency fee. That means, PMAB pays our attorney’s fees and costs.

What If PMAB Is On My Credit Report?

Based on our experience, PMAB may credit report. That means, PMAB may mark your credit report with the debt they are trying to collect on. In addition to PMAB, the original creditor may be on your credit report. For example, if you owe Fingerhut, and PMAB is collecting on it, both Fingerhut and PMAB may have separate entries on your credit report. This is important because you will want both parties to update your credit report if you pay off the debt.

THE GOOD NEWS IS…

If PMAB is on your credit report, we can help you dispute it. Mistakes on your credit report can be very costly. Along with causing you to pay higher interest rates, you may be denied credit, insurance, a rental home, a loan, or even a job because of these mistakes. Some mistakes may include someone else’s information on your credit report, inaccurate public records, stale collection accounts, or maybe you were a victim of identity theft. If you have a mistake on your credit report, there is a process to dispute them. My office will help you pull your credit report and dispute any inaccurate information.

REMEMBER…

If a credit reporting agency violates its obligations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), you may be entitled to statutory damages up to $1,000.00, plus the credit reporting agency will be required to fix the error. The FCRA also has a fee-shift provision. This means, the credit reporting agency pays your attorney’s fees and costs. Therefore, you will not pay me a penny for my time. We have helped dozens of consumers fix inaccurate information on their credit reports.

Complaints against PMAB

If you’re on this page, chances are you are just like the hundreds of consumers out there being harassed by PMAB. Below are some complaints from the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”), Google, and various consumer websites. Meda Pharmaceuticals (an alternate name for PMAB) is accredited by the BBB, and receives an “A-” rating. Despite its “A-” rating, there are many customer reviews and complaints on the BBB pertaining to PMAB.Here are some of the many BBB complaints regarding PMAB:

  1. “Hello, I called in about some collections that were suppose to be deleted off my account due to incorrect and fraudulent information. The young man transferred me to ****** *****, she was very rude obnoxious and told me I was lying. As a customer she didn’t help me in any way, she had a attitude when she answered the phone saying I was calling every month. She did not conduct herself as a manager of a company once again I can not express how rude she was. I am a customer who has incorrect and fradulent information on my credit report and was promised that they were going to take it off. I am writing to speak with a supervisor or owner of the company. I demand that they take this fradulent information off my credit report.”
  2. “Received an automated message on a home landline to call them. Returned their call within about 15 minutes and it took them 5 more minutes to figure out who I was. Then they demanded to know my address and birth date. Not knowing yet who they were or why they were calling, I declined to share that information until they identified themselves. They were rude and evasive but finally told me they were going to collect a debt. A debt, by the way, that I do not owe. I told them as much and said I would contact the medical office directly and straighten it out. They actually argued with me and gave me the impression that it was out of my hands and I had no choice but to pay. I called the medical office and they admitted their mistake and said they would remove the collection from PMAB So I just called PMAB back to tell them of the mistake and to please note in their records that all this had occurred. PMAB’s attitude and position was aggressive and condemning throughout. Arrogant assumptions that I was wring, at fault and not worthy of consideration. The most awful people I have ever dealt with.”
  3. “Beware of this company…I agreed to a one time payment of $50 towards a medical bill and WITHOUT my permission, they started an automatic draft every month from my checking account. Of course, when I called they tell me that their notes state I agreed to auto drafts. I am considering pursuing this matter and having the recorded call pulled from this conversation they say took place.”

There are only 26 reviews on Google, but they are not good for PMAB. Out of these reviews, PMAB is given a 1.8 star rating. Here’s a snippet of what the reviews on Google say:

“Mr. D. Hart is very rude. They treat you like a 2nd rate citizen because you have a account in collections. They need to be more mindful when people are calling in to resolve debt, instead of making you feel like you are trying to get over… I hope I never have to deal with these people again.”“This place keeps calling my phone over and over– my husband had called the hospital twice, and they said I had a bill… but it was paid off. How do you get them to stop, when I don’t owe anything?”

“This company is a joke. They don’t even have the decency to call with a person, they will call you with a machine telling you to call THEM. So when you DO call, you explain to them that this has been taken care of through your insurance and the medical system you go through. They WILL NOT stop calling you, in fact they will reference the recorded calls in which you authorized them to take care of it. Yes, I did authorize that, but the thing is, is that *I* am the one who took care of this. It took MONTHS for me to resolve this, because PMAB DIDN’T. I did three way calls with Carolina Health Care systems and BCBS and fixed it MYSELF. I have the bills being sent to ME but PMAB is still harassing me trying to get money off me. I am on the phone with my health insurance right now and they are laughing at this company. Straight trash, trying to get money off people.”

Cases We Have Handled Against PMAB

I THINK YOU’LL AGREE WITH ME WHEN I SAY…

Threats and harassment by collection agencies can be pretty intimidating. Well, it turns out we can stop the harassment, attempt to get you money damages under the law, and the collection agency will have to pay us our fees and costs. Here are some of the cases we’ve handled against PMAB:

  1. Gary S. v. PMAB. Gary S. lives in North Carolina and PMAB was attempting to collect a debt from him. In this case, PMAB was calling Gary on his cell phone. PMAB called from 704-553-7146. On at least one occasions, Gary spoke with one of PMAB’s representatives and request that PMAB stop calling him. On more than one occasion, when Gary answered the phone, he was greeted by an automated message before he was connected with a live representative. On more than one occasion, PMAB left automated voicemails on Gary’s cell phone. Despite Gary’s request for PMAB to stop calling, PMAB continued to place collection calls using an autodialer to Gary’s cell phone. In this case, we alleged that PMAB, LLC violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
  2. Anton D. v. PMAB. Anton D. lives in Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and PMAB was calling Anton’s cell phone attempting to collect on a medical debt. PMAB was calling Anton from 704-319-7188. On at least one occasions, Anton spoke with PMAB’s representative and informed the representative that the debt they were collecting on had already been paid and Anton requested validation of the debt. About two months after the first conversation, Anton again spoke with PMAB and request validation of the debt he mailed to him. The PMAB representative assured Anton that it would be mailed to him. Despite Anton’s multiple requests, PMAB never sent anything in writing to validate the debt. PMAB also threatened Anton that if he did not make a payment on the alleged debt, PMAB would report negatively on his credit report. In this case, we alleged that PMAB violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
  3. Melissa J. v. PMAB. Melissa J. lives in Virginia, and PMAB was calling Melissa to collect a debt owed to a “Sherman J.” Defendant called Melissa from 704-319-7188. On more than one occasions, Melissa spoke with PMAB’s representatives and informed them that she was not the individual they were looking for, that PMAB had the wrong number, and to stop calling her. On several occasions, Melissa received automated voicemails to her cell phone from PMAB looking for “Sherman J.” These voicemails failed to state that the calls were from PMAB, as required by the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act. Despite Melissa’s multiple attempts at telling PMAB that they had the wrong number and to stop calling her, PMAB continued to place collection calls to Melissa’s cell phone using an autodialer. Therefore, in this case, we alleged that PMAB violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Can PMAB Sue You?

Although anyone can sue anyone for any reason, we have never seen PMAB sue consumers. It’s likely PMAB does not sue because they do not always own the debt they are collecting on. Also,PMAB would have to hire a lawyer, or use in-house counsel, to file a lawsuit. It’s likely PMAB collects debts through the entire country. Therefore, it would be very difficult to have lawyers, or a law firm, licensed in every state. There are collection agencies that do sue consumers. For example, Midland Credit Management is one of the largest junk-debt buyers. Midland Credit Management collects on debt and also sues on debt. The opposite is true with PMAB. Therefore, it would be very unusual if PMAB sued you. The original creditor, on the other hand, may hire a collection firm, or lawyer, to sue you. If PMAB has threatened to sue you, call us. We can help.

Can PMAB Garnish Your Wages?

No, not unless they have a judgment. If PMAB has not sued you, then PMAB cannot get a judgment. Minus limited situations (usually dealing with debts owed to the government for student loans, taxes, etc.), in order to garnish someone’s wages, you need a judgment first. In short, we have not seen PMAB file a lawsuit against a consumer. So, PMAB cannot garnish your wages, minus the exceptions listed above. If PMAB has threatened to garnish your wages, contact our office right away.

PMAB Settlement

  1. If you want to settle a debt with PMAB, ask yourself these questions first:
  2. Do I really owe this debt?
  3. Is this debt within the statute of limitations?
  4. Is this debt on my credit report?
  5. If I pay this debt, will PMAB remove it from my credit report?
  6. If I pay this debt, will the original creditor remove it from my credit report?
  7. If I pay this debt, will I get something in writing from PMAB confirming the payment and settlement terms?

These are not the only things to consider when dealing with debt collectors. We are here to help you answer the questions above, and much more. Whether it’s harassment, settlement, pay for delete, or any other legal issue with PMAB, the folks at Mike Agruss Law are here to help you.

These people call me every day at least twice a day. They are very rude and get very snappy with u. If you hang up on them they call right back. It doesn't matter if you try to explain that you are in a tough financial bind they get very nasty and run with you. I am very fed up with them and have told them to stop calling me so much but they do it anyways

Hi Heather, I understand your frustration. My clients' experiences with PMAB are the similar to what you're going through. You should tell PMAB to stop calling you. If you'd like, my office will send them a cease and desist request. If PMAB calls you after you say stop, or after receiving a written cease and desist, they have violated the law. There's a federal law called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). The FDCPA protects consumers, like yourself, from harassing debt collectors. Under the law, we can stop the harassment, get you money damages, and PMAB has to pay our fees and costs. There are other federal laws you may be protected under, too. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further. Thanks.

I've been called by this company non stop, asked them numerous times to quit contacting me over this pretentious debt that I allegedly owe, yet they don't feel as if they have a right to continually annoy me & blow up my phone with their fake garbage, it's really starting to be too much.

Excuse the "don't" I accidentally added to the above comment. I want this company to stop contacting me.

Hi Gary, I've helped other people being harassed by PMAB, and they usually share your same feelings. My clients' says PMAB is pretty aggressive when collecting debts. Fortunately, you have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). Once you tell a collection agency to stop calling, they should stop calling you. If PMAB continued to call you and harass you after you said stop, then PMAB violated the FDCPA. If PMAB violated the FDCPA, you're entitled to money damages up to $1,000.00, and PMAB would have to pay mt attorneys' fees. In other words, you would not owe me a penny for my services. Please call me (888-572-0176) to further discuss your options. AT teh very least, let's get PMAB to stop harassing you. Thanks, Mike .

Pamb calls my cell at least once a day, using a variety of different numbers. I suppose to try to trick me into answering. I'm a disabled army veteran and on a fixed income. I have in the past been threatened by one of their employees, hence the reason I no longer answer unknown callers. Is there help for this? Please, thank you, and God bless.

Received a call from PMAB, they did not leave a message so I called them. She would not tell me what it was in reference to until I did tell her I was Kristen. She then told me I had a balance due for Fredericksburg Emergency Medical, that was taken care of already. I have not received any letters from them lately to let me know I was going to collections. I told her it was taken care of, she asked me for my address. I did not confirm and I hung up. I called Fredericksburg Emergency Medical and I have a zero balance, and they will be sending me an itemized bill reflecting that charity took care of it.

I received a collection notice from PMAB, LLC and requested a validation of debt in accordance to my rights under the FDCPA and received nothing from them. They have now, in the last week put derogatory remarks on my vredit reports causing serious damage to my scores. I am attempting to purchase a home and this action will most certainly prevent that.

PMAB, LLC calls my cell about twice a day. I have called them and told them to stop calling me. After that attempt failed I sent them a voice text to say the same. This all started a year ago and continues to this day. I already paid this measly $26.00 bill with the hospital and told them this fact. I've seen hundreds of the same complaints about them on the internet that date back to 2008. I can't believe they're still legally getting away with this!

I worked for panera bread and was unknowingly by me, knowingly by them exposed to carbon monoxide for 2 years causing me a great deal of doctor bills. The settlement was a joke (under $7500) and I eventually recovered. I had many health issues and ran up a significant bill which panera refused to pay. I told PMBA all of this and that I'm trying to get my life back together. I don't see how I should be responsible. They call my cell daily, hours don't matter! I have 10 accounts with them some dated 2011. Any help would be great, Jason

I was rear-ended while driving my company vehicle in October of 2014. My employer required I be examined by a physician and complete a drug analysis per their safety policy. However, my employer only paid one of the bills associated with that hospital visit. Ohio workers compensation denied the claim as I was not injured in the vehicle accident. Since my employer did not pay the second hospital bill, the hospital harassed me, and then turned the claim into PMAB. I've explained the situation to them. However, the charge is showing up on my credit score and has reduced my credit score by 101-130 points depending on which credit bureau is used. What can be done to remove this charge from my credit score, and return my credit to good standing? Thanks

I have several hospital/doctor bills that I owe, and am making payments on. Apparently they feel that I should be able to pay these bills in full within 90 days of service. Well, I can't, so I'm making payments to the individual doctors/facilities. PMAB has never sent me anything in writing. I do not answer calls that I do not recognize and I am going to block all of these numbers. They call me 4-5 times a day. They haven't threatened me because I won't take to them. Are you able to help me at all? I don't even know how much they day I owe. I only pay on bills that I get in the mail, or on my email.

I also have been harassed daily by cell number from PMAB. I have several accounts with CMC but I am fighting disability right now and have no income or insurance. I'm actually a candidate for a bill waiver from CMC. I'm not paying PMAB a dime and they threatened that when or if I go back to work or get disability they will take money from me.

Hi Crystal, If PMAB is making empty threats to you, you can pursue a claim against PMAB for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If PMAB is harassing you on your cell phone, you may have a case under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. I'll call you so we can discuss what's been going on with PMAB. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Desiree, I've seen this situation happen often with medical bills. The hospital should submit your medical bills to your insurance company. If the hospital has done so, and PMAB is calling you on a balance owed after your insurance paid, I can help you stop the calls from PMAB. Let's discuss your situation further on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Kelly, I can help you figure out how much money you owe. I can also help you stop the calls. Is PMAB calling you on your cell phone? Either way, let's get to the bottom of it. I'll call you to get some more information from you. IN the meantime, please have the following information ready for our conversation: (1) When was the first time PMAB called you; (2) What number does PMAB call you on (your home, cell, work); and (3) What number does PMAB call from (what number shows up on your caller ID). Thanks, Mike.

Hi Jeff, I'm sorry to hear you got caught in the middle of this work situation, and now your credit score is suffering. Do you have a health insurance? How much is the second bill? Assuming PMAB is not harassing you on your phone, I think your best bet is to dispute the debt on your credit report. Here are instructions on how to dispute inaccurate information on your credit report http://agrussconsumer.wpengine.com/practice-area/dispute-credit-report/ I'll call you so we can go over this on the phone, too. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Bonnie, If you told PMAB to stop calling you, and the calls continued, you have a case under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). If the calls to your cell phone are robocalls, you may also have a case under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). I'll help you stop the calls. I'll also explain the laws and your rights to you when we speak on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Kim, Did PMAB call you or send you any additional letters after you requested validation? That must be frustrating that you try to validate the debt, and then PMAB puts a mark on your credit report. Do you owe the debt? Depending on whether or not your owe the debt, we can send a dispute letter to PMAB and to the original creditor. Let's discuss your rights, and situation, further on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Rinda, If PMAB threatened to take legal action against you, you may have a case under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The FDCPA protects consumers from 3rd-party debt collectors, like PMAB. Collection agencies, like PMAM, cannot make empty threats. A threat of legal action, without the intent to follow through, is an empty threat. We can talk about your experience with PMAB on the phone. I think I can help you. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Kristem, Did PMAB call you again? Also, is PMAB on your credit report? I see this situation happen frequently with medical bills. Hopefully, PMAB closed your account after you told PMAB you do not owe the debt. If PMAB is still calling you or sending you letters, your best bet is to send PMAB something in writing explaining why you don't owe the debt. I can help you with the letter. If PMAB is harassing you, I can help you stop the harassment, too. Thanks, Mike.

PMAB has been calling me non-stop for over 2 years. I had accounts that were with CMC for my 2 older boys pediatrician and 1 account that was for myself. My husband was in between jobs during this period and although we had "gap" insurance - I still had to take my kids to their Well Check appointments and I was having health issues at the time I could not ignore. We found out AFTER all the appointments and bills came through that our "gap" insurance DIDNT COVER Well Check visits or the appointments I had. I am a SAHM with 3 young boys and we currently owe close to $1000 but these bills took a back seat because we are a family of 5 and keeping the lights on and food on the table take priority right now. They call and call, leave no voicemails. I know these bills are mine, but they don't need to call EVERYDAY.

Hi Cinnamon, Have you received a letter from PMAB? That way, we can figure out how many accounts PMAB is collecting on. If you haven't told PMAB to stop calling, you should. I can also send PMAB a cease and desist letter. I'll call you to get some more information from you. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Shara, It amazes me when collection agencies won't work with consumers when the consumer is trying to make payment arrangements. Wouldn't the collection agency rather get something than nothing? Then, on top it, they continue to call you all of the time. It makes zero sense to me. Regardless, you came to the right place. I stop debt collection harassment once and for all. I'll call you to get some more information from you. Then, I'll stop the calls from PMAB. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Jason, Based on the consumers I've spoke with regarding PMAB, it sure seems like PMAB collects on a lot of medical debt. In your situation, you have 10 accounts with PMAB!? I can only imagine how annoyed and frustrated you must be, as your medical bills seem to be work related. I will help you stop the calls on all of your accounts with PMAB. Please fax or e-mail the letters or account numbers to me. I'll send PMAB a cease and desist letter. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Trina, Did you send proof of payment by the VA to PMAB? If you did, and PMAb continues to call you or send you letters, you may have a case under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). The FDCPA protects consumers like yourself from harassing collection agencies like PMAB. Under the FDCPA, you are entitled to money damages for the harassment, plus the collection agency has to pay my attorney's fees and costs. I'll further discuss your options and rights with you on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

I had two med bills from CMC from 2010. Someone hit me and the insurance was supposed to pay the hospital directly. However, I guess that did not happen and it went on my credit as a collection. It was recently pulled and then I started receiving calls all day from PMAB. Today was the second time they've left a message. However I receive calls throughout the day every day. This is a debt that was supposed to be paid by the insurance company of the woman who hit me in the auto accident, so I'm not paying. I even have the auto insurance information of the person that hit me so that the hospital collected it from the right person--same as you would do for a workers comp type claim. I want them to leave me alone and stop harassing me for something that should have been paid by someone else.

I had two insurance's at the time of visit to CMC, my main insurance and a secondary insurance to pay what's left over from the primary. But I get several's call a week from PMAB LLC robo calls, I have told them to stop calling. But they still call. Not sure how they got my cell phone number because at time of visit to CMC my number was xxx-xxx-5017. Under the TCPA they do not suppose to call cell phone. They are allowed to make one call.

Hi Deirdre, Have you told PMAB to stop calling you? Also, if you know what debt PMAB is trying to collect on, and your health insurance should have paid it, you should resubmit the bill to your insurance company, and let PMAB know that your health insurance company will pay the bill. I can help you take care of all of this, too. I can also help you stop the calls. I've helped plenty of consumers being harassed by PMAB. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Gary, you are correct. PMAB should not be placing robocalls to your cell phone after you told them to stop calling. You are not the first person to complain about health insurance issues, medical bills, and PMAB. I have helped countless other consumers in your situation resolve these issues. Let's talk about your rights and options on the phone. I will certainly stop the calls for you. I can also help you resolve the issues with your medical bills and insurance company. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Patrice, what a nightmare. In addition to consumer rights' cases, I also handle personal injury cases. Most of my personal injury clients have problems with insurance companies after an accident, even when the accident was their fault. It sounds like you are going through the same situation. The at-fault driver likely has medical payment coverage that should pay your medical bills. If not, your own health insurance should cover the bill. What you should not have to deal with right now is PMAB. I can help you. Let's talk further on the phone. I'll call you. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Marianne, I agree with you Marianne. Even though the debt is yours, PMAB doesn't need to call you every day. I can put a stop to the calls immediately. I can also help you get back on track with your medical bills. You are one of many people on this page that has accounts with CMC that were sent to PMAB for collections. Let's get to the bottom of this so you can focus on taking care of your 3 boys, and stop worrying about PMAB. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Dania, Yes, this is help for this. You have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). The FDCPA protects consumers like you from third party debt collectors like PMAB. It's a shame to hear about a collection agency harassing a disabled army vet. I will help you, and you won't pay me a penny for my services. I'll explain your rights and options to you on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Shannon, I'm sorry to hear PMAB contacted your parents. If PMAB has your contact information, then there's really no reason at all to contact any third parties, especially your parents. I will help you stop the calls coming through to you and your parents. Let's discuss your rights and options on the phone. Then, we'll come up with a game plan to get PMAB off of your back. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Doretha, Yes, I can stop the calls. If you are getting automatic messages, it's probably robocalls. If these robocalls are being made to your cell phone, you have rights under a couple of federal laws. There are two main laws you are protected under: (1) The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and (2) The Telephone Consumer Protection Act. You can get up to $1,000.00 for harassment, and $500.00-$1,500.00 for each illegal robocall. I'll e-mail you further details on how we can help you. Thanks, Mike.

I've explained to these people that I just had a bankruptcy discharged 2 months ago. I was making payments to a company prior to them for a total of 6 months. The duration of the contract. These guys call from no where and say they're the company taking over, and I needed to make new arrangements with them. They call my family, my job, friends constantly. My supervisor has become just as irritated.

Good Evening: Since last month we have been receiving calls from 704-553-7146 to our TextNow account number: 347-354-9237. Each time we receive a call, we respond with "Wrong number", but the calls continue. The last call was on 3/20/2017. Please help us stop these calls. We don't owe any money, nor do we appreciate the needless harassment. Thank you very much.

How do I get Pmab to stop calling about a debt I've told them I do not owe? They began calling me more than a year ago and I only recently found out what it was as they use robo calls. I hang up. a ago and said it was for a thirty dollar co pay from December 2011. I never got a bill for this and I'm sure I paid it as I always do so when I see a medical person. It's been so long I can no longer pull up the receipt on my credit card I use for all medical things!

have been getting calls from PMAB...they want 5,000 for a 1,900 bill. I had quad bypass surgery in july 2013 and have been waiting for Medicaid and have been recently denied. I talked to the people that I have the bill with and they have a fund to take care of it. That is how I found out it was 1900.00 instead of 5000... they call everyday and it is a recording. I very much want the call to stop!

Hi, I just filled out the info in the reply section but it was not intended to be posted. I have been harassed for 4 years by PMAB LLC and want to sue them. I have been going to a cardiologist in Wilmington NC.for 4 years. All this time I have been constantly harassed by PMAB LLC because I owe a very small amount of money --now only about $34.00 . I always pay my bill at the doctors office because this collection agency never gets it right. They call me at all hours of the day with a robot message!

I was just informed that I had a debt that is being collected by PMAB but have not received any paperwork from this and the only way I found out was when I checked my credit report today. What should I do No not a problem at all. I had gone to the hospital back March of 2014, due to an altercation, the original bill was around 900-1000, which I was not able to pay nor did I feel like should be required to pay because I was victim. I have limited monthly income and not sure what do to regarding this debt!

PMBA has report a debt to the credit bureau for $263.00. I don't know what this is for and I haven't received any statements from them at all. They just report it as a bad debt. I am not sure what you need to know. I have MyIDcare because my info was hacked from the Federal Government Payroll records so they gave this service to me. I received and e-mail from them saying on January 20, 2016 this was reported as a bad debt. I have no idea who I owe. I haven't called them yet to try to find out because I live overseas and they are not open yet!

Hi Sue, besides reporting on your credit report, has PMAB called you? If so, what number does PMAB call from? Regarding the underlying debt, do you owe it? If you don;t owe the debt, and it's inaccurately being reported on your credit report, I can help you dispute it. You can learn more about your credit report rights here http://www.agrussconsumerlaw.com/practices/common-credit-report-errors/ Even if you are overseas, I can still help you. We'll go over your rights and options on the phone. Thanks, Mike.

It sounds like you will have a case based on PMAB collecting a debt you do not owe. Were your bills submitted to health insurance, paid, and you paid the co-pays? If so, and yo don't owe the debt, you should tell PMAb. You should also check your credit report to make sure nothing inaccurate is on it. You can get a free copy of your credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com I'll call you to see if you have case under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Thanks, Mike.

Today, two collections accounts (medical) showed up on CreditKarma. Both are from Pmab with an original creditor being my local hospital (Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center). Apparently the original debt (totaling less than $400 combined) was incurred in late 2015. However, I have been living in South Korea since February of 2015. This is not my debt. I have submitted a dispute, but they will only mail proof of the debt to a US address. I'm not sure how to proceed. The debt is for such a low amount that I would gladly pay it just to get it off my report-- it really hurt my scores. What are your thoughts!

Pmab has been attempting to collect a $62.00 "debt" from me that supposedly originated from Mission Hospital in North Carolina. I have verified with Mission Hospital that I have never had an outstanding debt with them. I have spoken with people at Pmab and they agreed to "close the account" but I just saw that it is still listed as in collections on my credit report!

PMAB calls multiple times a day. I have only received one bill within the past few months in regard to any debt and there was not an explanation as to what the debt was owed from. This has now hit my credit report and I am unhappy with the whole situation. Also, the amount owed on the paper statement and the amount that has hit my credit score are different totals.

PMAB keeps calling me and leaving robobot messages after I have wrote them in writing not to call me. They also keep trying to collect a debt that is not mine. I have run investigations through all 3 credit bureaus after PMAB has reported this false debt in the past, and it was removed after deemed false. Now PMAB are trying to collect the same false debt again and threaten to report it to the credit bureaus again.

Hello. So I talked to a credit building agency today and I was given the information that on my credit score pmab has a debt for me when I was on active duty and out of state. I did some research to see who they were and what this could be about and it say a credit card debt. I don't have a credit card nor was I at any medical facilities and I have proof that I was on orders. What should I do? I spoke to Lexington Law today and they told me they would dispute the charges however it has affected my credit score dramatically!

My grandson had to go to the local ER on 08-23-18. Patient financial services declared him indigent before he was processed in the ER. He lives with us so our address and my cell number were on his paperwork. The ER doctors were 3rd party providers so they billed separately from the hospital. |Never got a bill from them, but got a letter from and started getting calls on my cell phone from PMAB. The hospital emailed them that the bill was written off, including the doctor's bill. Hospital sent me a copy of the invoice showing where everything was written off, ZERO balance. PMAB called me again this afternoon. Whoever the man was had a severe attitude problem, was extremely rude. I could not talk to him the way I wanted to as other people were around. I do, however, have a recording app on my phone and have him saved. I went by the hospital again and patient finances emailed PMAB one more time that the bill had a zero balance. What can I get for my trouble?
