Got a call today from SMS Financial Recovery. Claims we owe a debt to a bank we never heard from. Threatning to take us to court. We don't even know what this is for. Now showing up on credit report as a hard inquiry. How can they pull credit if not given permission?

Receiving harassment, hostile, abusive, threats of litigation from SMS Financial. They have not provided me with any written documentation information me who they are or the debt they are calling me about. I had to option to dispute. I was threatened on the 15th with litigation and I would be responsible for their legal costs and debt, and ordered me to get an attorney. I am a Veteran, diagnosed and being treated for PTSD. That called I informed the collector guy that I was experiencing a throbbing headache indicative of high blood pressure which I am on life-sustaining medicine to treat and I let him know that he was being abusive, yelling at me, belittling me. When I hung up I could tell he triggered my PTSD, it's been HORRIBLE and I have not been able to sleep or eat normally. Can you all please help!

I was never served anything on a lawsuit for a repossessed vehicle. However, a judgement was issued ...my wages were garnished during the executive order to pause garnishments and attempts to garnish. SMS Financial sent a discovery of assets to the Dr I work for. The harassment and hostile phone calls are just the beginning . I left my job in May after 10 years of working there because of all this. ..I wasn\'t given an opportunity to respond to any lawsuit or even claim any exemptions. How does a judgement get entered against you if there isnt a lawsuit first? Please help....there is so much more.
