CardWorks Servicing, previously known as Cardholder Management Services, was founded in 1987. CardWorks Servicing has locations in Pennsylvania and New York, and now has clients throughout the United States and Canada. CardWorks Servicing employs approximately 800 people and is a subsidiary of CardWorks, Inc. CardWorks Servicing works with bankcard issuers and their services include collecting on debts as well as advising bankcard companies on risk management.According to its Web site, CardWorks Servicing claims they “ are committed to helping our clients grow their bankcard businesses and maintain the very highest ethical standards.” However, according to its track record, CardWorks Servicing’s collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collects can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), CardWorks Servicing has been sued about 52 times in the last 3 years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for CardWorks Servicing on the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau has processed 10 billing/collection issues, and 14 total complaints, regarding CardWorks Servicing in the last three years.CardWorks Servicing has several telephone numbers it places debt collection calls from. CardWorks Servicing may be calling you from the following telephone numbers: 866-978-1541, 877-630-5816, 877-394-5975, 877-487-5583, 856-773-4724, 516-576-0404, 877-788-1060, 412-291-4000, 914-227-5803, and 412-291-5000.Is CardWorks Servicing harassing you over debt?If CardWorks Servicing has harassed you over a debt, whether they called you excessively, threatened you, made misrepresentations when trying to collect old debts, called you at work despite knowing you cannot receive these type of calls at work, disclosed your debt to a third party, tried to collect a debt from you that you did not owe, or left you a voicemail message without the proper disclosures, contact Mike Agruss Law, for a free case evaluation. Hope you're having a wonderful day. My name is Christopher Leathers, and I believe your company has been trying to get in touch with me. I'm sure that this is regarding my debt. I was wondering if you could possibly give me some information, regarding this issue? I'm really sorry that I haven't addressed this issue sooner. I've just had a series of bad luck, so to speak. BUT I'm slowly getting back on my feet, and would like to resolve my debt. I wouldn't be able to pay all of it, upfront, but I think I could work out some sort of payment options. I have to discuss it with my wife first to see how much I would be able to pay. If you could make a note, saying that I really am sorry about not handling this issue, sooner. Looking forward to getting this resolved!
