Do you have problems with CNAC over a debt? You are protected under various state and federal laws. For example, you have rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

• The TCPA has been around since 1991 and protects people from unwanted solicitation calls, robocalls, faxes, and text messages. Under the TCPA, you may receive between $500 and $1,500 for each illegal robocall, text, and fax.
• The EFTA was established in 1978 and works to protect consumers who use electronic methods of managing finances. Under the EFTA, written permission must be given for a company to take electronic payment from your bank account.
• The FCRA was established in 1970 and protects the information in your credit report, among other things. If your credit report contains inaccurate information, the FCRA gives you leverage and rights to dispute the inaccurate information in your credit report.

CNAC is a financial company that specializes in automobile loans for consumers who have less than great credit. Those who are approved must utilize a dealer in the CNAC network. The company was established in 1996. Alternate business names include CarNow Acceptance Company and Venturcap Financial Group LLC. The company is located at 615 Reservoir Ave, Cranston RI 02910.

CNAC is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. The BBB gives the business an A rating. In the past three years, there have been 2 complaints closed. Both of these complaints were dealing with billing and collection issues.

CNAC may be calling you from 877-563-3335, 412-563-3335, 317-249-3200, 262-787-9600

You are protected under several state and federal laws when dealing with CNAC. Whether it is robocalls or text messages, credit report errors, or unauthorized electronic payments from your bank account, you have rights under the law. Under various state and federal laws, we will help you based on a fee-shift provision and/or based on a contingency fee. That means, the company pays your attorney’s fees and costs. Cnac sent a tow truck driver out to pick up my van after I told them I was contacting the police station because of fraud on my account long story short I made the payment by phone and the driver assaulted my husband who is disabled fast forward to today I only owe 163 I tried to pay 100 down pay the rest Friday since the money was stolen from my account and they wouldn't even take the money I was told I needed to park my car

I currently have a car loan with CNAC. My payment is bi-weekly in Friday's. I have had late payments in the past but they have never been more than 7 days late. I believe CNAC is harassing my references and myself. They have called my references the day the payment is due once even telling them that if I don't pay that day (Friday) they will repo my car. They have called my boyfriend over 20 times within 6 hours. Once he made a payment for me and they charged his debt card the next week with out our consent! This is just half of what they have done. Not to mention the car I has already needed a new transmission (covered under warranty) and $1,000 of dollars in work. I planned on keeping my car after I was done paying but by the looks of it I probably won't be able to keep in a working condition.

They keep on processing payments through mine and my wife's bank account without prior approval. They don't understand sometimes you need to make a payment a week late. As soon as they have your bank info it's game on and has cost me overdraft fees as well as 500 in fees with my apartment due to them processing payments without authorization even though they have been told to stop multiple times.

So let's start off with it was my first car I was 18 new nothing. Wasn't offered gap insurnace got into a 13k loan for a 5k worth car. And it was totalled out. Well I dealt with losing my job because I pregnant and was high risk and unable to work. I couldn't afford 250 every two weeks anymore. So they after continuously harrassing me and even one girl was extremely rude sending me a verrrry long text how im always late. We finally got the payment reduced to $20 every two weeks. My husband pays for it I'm now a stay at home mom. My son has only half a heart and has lots of surgeries and lots of medical bills. My husband had to take off work. And we did fall behind again but we paid up. Well now I was curious as to why our money seemed to be randomly disappearing. Cnac has been taking money off my husbands card without his or my authorization. So now because of this we werent able to pay our utility bill. And was 2 dollars away from over drafting because they processed the payment. Not once but twice without asking.

Hi, i purchased a 2010 honda from JDByryder right after starting at a family firm. Within months it was in the shop for starter issues.. Then the AC went out.. i took it in.. but the car was making a horrible noise.. i asked them to fix it too, since they had the car in the shop. I was told it was nothing this was October. Now come to find out its the alternator. They literally call 6-8 times in a day even when the payment isn't due till that day. They have made these same calls to my family, friends, they told my sister in law they would repo the car, though the payment was only 3 days late. It is embarrassing. They are very rude. And heaven forbid you give them bank info. It has been a nightmare dealing with them. I purchased this car 8/18 and i owe the same amount i bought it for. How is that possible.

I was unable to pay CNAC for a couple payments and I explained it to them. They then automatically debited 3 payments from my account from a card I had on file even tho I did not setup auto payments.

First off imma start by saying they tricked us into some tax refund situation when we told them we don’t get taxes then they call you on the day of payment harassing you and your co buyer if they talk to one person and don’t hear what they want they call the other person they have been harassing us during this pandemic almost everyday and we pay our car note every two weeks this is crazy

I am being harassed constantly from one particular person, jason c. He emails me daily and calls daily. I correspond with someone else named latoya and yet jason still calls to harass me. He is rude and ignorant. Amongst this pandemic mostly all other financial companies are working with their customers except cnac. I do send in payments in small amounts and that's not good enough. I'm sick of them. I have 7 months left until my car is paid of and because of there harassment I'm ready to go somewhere else to get another loan and I will recommend to every one I know to not do business with them

Shannon from Cnac calls me ever single day twice a day after I already discussed with her supervisor when I’ll be able to make payment but due to the pandemic and being a high risk pregnant woman my doctor has restricted me from working certain jobs which I have expressed this to them and that as soon as I get paid again which isn’t until another two weeks I will be able to make the full payment amount I am only 410 dollars behind on my car note and yet she calls every single day only to get the same answer from me and it’s not getting anywhere I wish she would stop harassing me and leaving me voicemails

Cnac literally calls the day of the payment. They dont even give you a chance to make the payment. Then if you dont answer they call everybody on the list of numbers they make you give during the purchase. They are annoying and very inconsiderate! They have called while im working and demandig a payment. There was one time the system was down so i couldnt call my payment it, they repoed my vehicle while me and my 2 year old daughter was in the market. When i called them they noticed the system had been down but they still forced me to pay the repo fee. I am disgusted with this company. Someone should really do something about it.

really dont know how to address this issue other than try to explain it. I have been. Having some financial issues of late due to covid and health issues. I have had to defer a few payments and have made some late. I dont claim to be perfect. But ive always kept in touch with my account manager. A few months ago she basically accused me of lying because the two debit cards I was trying to use wouldn't go through even though I sent her pictures of balances, etc. My father ended up calling to make that payment. His card disnt work the first time either. I let that go because I'm sure people do lie about those things. On 12/18 my payment went through and later I received an email that stated she had brought my account current and my next payment wouldn't be due until 1/14. I questioned this in 2 other emails (I am forwarding those emails as well) and was still told next payment 1/14. On January 1 a payment was drafted from my bank account. Since 3 times I was told next payment was 1/14 the only way to interpret that was as a mistake and mistakes happen. Yesterday I finally got a response to my inquiry after phonecards and several emails. What I was told in that email sounded completely different than the 12 /18 email and since then I've been trying to understand what qas going on. There was no mention of the jan 1 payment auto drafted or other wise. I have received the most hateful and rude responses from a business professional I have ever encountered .basically being told I was stupid and couldn't pay my bill anyway. I have never felt so humiliated or degraded. Just because I have poor credit does not make me stupid. My credit qas ruined 5 years ago during a bitter divorce. I am anything but stupid. I have a masters degree in nursing. For me to question what was happening it wasnt clear. If I interpreted things wrong then I could accept that and listened to what I may have missed or if, such as this case, it just wasn't clear. I may not have a business degree but I know enough to know none of this is ok or a way to treat people when everyone is under extra stress. I budgeted based on the 12/18 email that said next payment was 1/14 and the account was current.  None if it was clear. And today is a different story and so very rude. I asked for ms Patterson supervisor name and phone number which as of now she has refused to give me. Please see attachments for emails. I am not someone who purposely tries to cause problems. I have no problem saying I misunderstood something but my husband and several other people interpreted it the way I did and could not believe the last message I got.

Hi Krishunda. I'm sorry that CNAC is harassing you and treating you like a child. That isn't right and it's illegal. If you could send me the threatening letters to [email protected], I can review them and we can work together to stop this behavior from CNAC. Thanks, Mike

Hi Steven. Unfortunately, debt collectors will often state that it is acceptable for you to postpone or miss a payment, only to turn around and begin pursuing you relentlessly. Automatically debiting payments when you're not signed up for them is a violation of the law unless it is authorized, you have a court-ordered lien, or they are the IRS. Let's talk about your rights and determine what we can do to help. 312-224-4695 Thanks, Mike

Hi Nelda. It sounds like a nightmare you're dealing with and I can understand being frustrated. Debt collectors are not permitted to divulge your personal information to third-parties, this is considered illegal. What other information were your family members given? I'd like to discuss this with you and will give you a call. Thanks, Mike

Hi Kayla. I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're dealing with and I certainly hope things get better for your son. If CNAC is taking money without authorization or a court-ordered lien, they could be in violation of the law. I will call you to discuss this and what you can do to get this taken care of. Thanks, Mike

Hi Shawn. If you'd like to talk further about this, including the repossession you had to deal with, reach out to me at 312-224-4695. Thanks, Mike

I surrendered a vehicle to CNAC as it was clear the vehicle was wearing out but I could not get out from under the loan payments, therefore making keeping the vehicle and repairing it while making the large payments required by CNAC financially impossible. CNAC is now suing for the remainder of the loan, plus interest and court fees.

Purchased a vehicle and it was indeed a lemon. Shortly after purchase a major expense cause them to take the vehicle back and repair it. They gave me a loaner car after a little back and forth. Fast forward. The car had major issues that required them to fix it. I had taken my vehicle to be repaired numerous times and they say that it was fixed. It had not been fixed. My car conks out and was parked. I reached out to a young lady concerning this and they said to drive it out to them. There was no way that I could drive this broken vehicle. I got half way there and it cooked out on i95. I let them know where the car was parked and I left the keys. Shortly after, the young lady was fired. They did not reach out to me about the vehicle or if it had ever been sold. Now I am being garnished for 25% of my wages on a vehicle that they knew wouldn't last 2 years. There is so much more that happened. They ha e GOT to be stopped!

DON\'T DO IT!! They wrote my initial review!!!They will screw you over!!! First said they would repair an issue after purchase....didn\'t..was late once in two years house burned down...only days late, threats and didn\'t care...year 3 only one late payment at that point...they stole money off a one time payment card...Non authorized for autopay...then wouldn\'t refund...told them to come get vehicle, they waited 6 months charged me for that 6 months they took to get it and called it a repo ...they eventually refunded the one payment.... they apparently are allowed to steal!! Because commissioner said they paid the one payment back....so apparently big buis can use use CC\'s without auth...but we can\'t hmmmm... I wasn\'t going to trust with them my financial info anymore!!! I shouldn\'t be obligated to. Now racking a bigger and bigger bill for me for court costs trying to garnish bank account and such... I WOULDNT EVEN RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY!!! First time I ever financed a vehicle and the last!! They stole and messed my credit up!! Mess up and throw it on customer!!! Wow!! UPDATE!! Now after all this their collection agency tried to take me to court to garnish my bank account. They had to reschedule first hearing because they couldn\'t find someone to serve me in Sept. Then I received notification in October there was another hearing set for Nov 1st but it was being dismissed for the same issue. So hearing dismissed on 13th or 14th of Oct. Then a week later I get served for the hearing that was dismissed!!! WTH!!! Which shows dismissed on court website....Now a week later I find out there is a hold on my bank account!!!! How can there be a hold on my account when the hearing to do so was dismissed???!!! You have to have an order from the judge to do so! That is what the hearing is for!!! WOW!!! The collection agency handling is a supposed attorneys office!!! They should know better!!!

I am writing to complain against JD Byrider CNAC. This car company is suing me for unpaid wages for a vehicle that had numerous amounts of problems. I made payments on the vehicle while my vehicle was not in my possession due to it being fixed. This car company has a reputation of deceptive sales of deceptive vehicles and predatory lending. There should be a consumer protection law in place for for car dealerships and their misleading advertising and sales techniques to sell consumers cars that they know consumers cannot afford, putting consumers at risk for default and repossession. They take advantage of vulnerable consumers by forcing consumers into high interest rates without regard to the consumers credit qualifications and sold expensive extensive contracts that stipulated that consumers can only get their car repaired by JD Byrider. Thousands of hard working individuals in poverty are dealing with this issue. This car dealership has had multiple lawsuits placed against them in every state. When this car dealership fixes the vehicles, they schedule the date over a month down the road and keep the vehicle for a month or more at a time. The vehicles are unsafe unreliable. JD byrider sets their customers up for repossession and financial ruin. More than half of JD Byriders deals fail or end in repossession. This means most consumers suffer loss economic harm of transportation loss and damage to their credit. I believe the practices are unfair and I am looking for legal advice.

I haven\'t missed a payment I have only over been late once, I asked if I could be given 3days. And the woman yelled at me like I was her child. Fast forward I use the Text to pay at times and was like 6dollars short, and Cnac called, all my references and place of employment. They have harassed me by telephone, by email, and also requested medical documents. I asked them to stop calling me at certain hours of the day because I work overnight shifts, and then woman basically said she will call me when ever .I\'ve have been harassed .multiple time for being a few bucks shy. Threatened and gave ultimatums, I am tired of this and stressed out. Heck the car hasn\'t been driven in 6months because it broke down. And now I\'m being harassed bc I don\'t have insurance on it. It doesn\'t run it sit in my driveway.

I am writing to complain about JD Byrider CNAC. I purchased a 2014 Kia Soul in the summer of 2021 and have had nothing but problems with the vehicle. A couple weeks into owning the vehicle it was already in the shop for major repairs. Since then, I have had my catalytic converters replaced twice, the engine replaced, and the engine rebuilt amongst other repairs. They recently had my vehicle in their garage for a month due to negligence. The office and garage did not communicate to each other, there fore they did not create a finance plan in order to conduct the repairs until the 3rd week of having my vehicle while it sat in the parking lot. I was still forced to make payments during this process and now owe an extra $40 per car payment because my repairs were not covered under manufacture warranty any longer. My car is still not performing correctly after all of this time and money and I am afraid it will be a matter of time before it breaks down again. They also call and text the day you owe payment. I’ve had a very rude interaction with an employee who proceeded to curse and hang the phone up on me as I was attempting to make payment arrangements. All in all, I believe this place is taking advantage of people and selling them junk. They threatened to sue me if I stop making payments and give them the car back. At this point I would consider going bankrupt over investing tens of thousands of dollars into a lemon vehicle that these crooked people are profiting off.

We have a previously owned vehicle from CNIC finance. We’ve paid it off and we’ve got another car. We have never been late before we recently came to some hardships and we communicate with them kept in touch and recently we’ve just been paying we can, and they agreed to this except they need to want to charge extras in fees and hidden things that weren’t supposed to be there one minute it was this amount and the next minute it’s another amount and there’s over 11+ emails over 20+ calls to different references harassing them Over this and I am maybe one month behind I have the other vehicle that is no longer in it’s an operable is it sitting at you’re paying $11,000 for it highway robbery if you ask me countless emails text messages voicemails the whole 9 yards just constant, constant harassment threatening to garnish my tax return for the next 10 years threaten repo of the vehicle we already have paid over $9000 for this vehicle and it has constant wiring issues constant issues all the way around and general electrical issues countless amounts of other issues that they will not touch or fix. They have been notified of these issues, and still yet fail to fix these issues because it’s not under their warranty.

Hello! I was researching information regarding complaints about CNAC & I ran across Mike Agruss Law page. Oh how I wish I would have found this page sooner because I would have never gone into business with this company, no matter how badly I needed a vehicle. I just got a vehicle from them in December & it has been nothing but a headache. At this point, I feel harassed & I really wish I could just take them the vehicle back. I was late once, only by 2 days, due to a lost debit card & I was ill. They instantly started calling all of my references & even had the audacity to tell my sister in law that I would need a doctor\'s excuse in order for them to accept a late payment. I have never in my life heard of such & I definitely don\'t feel a finance company has the right to ask me for anything related to my personal health information. Now, just this past Friday (the actual due date), I was unable to make the payment before closing time because I was traveling & honestly forgot. It tried to pay online Saturday & Sunday but was unable to. Again, they immediately started to call my references & they threatened my daughter with repossession when she did call to pay just this morning. I do understand my responsibility to pay on time & I do accept any consequences as a result. However, I shouldn\'t feel harassed when I\'m trying to pay & give them my hard earned money. They have no leniency, no willingness to work with you, no compassion or even professionalism. What company literally asks for a doctor\'s excuse? Additionally, what company actually tries to prevent you from willingly making a payment? They are just impossible to deal with & I see this is a common practice of theirs, based on all the comments on your page.

I have been with CNAC for about 4 years I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue, I have my grandmother as my co-signer. I work a seasonal job during the summer that pays well and I\'m able to pay my car on time during the summer but once it gets to slow season I pick up side jobs and a part-time job. Sometimes my paycheck does not come the same week that my payment is due for my car which is $200 every two weeks so $400 a month. As of yesterday I was not able to make my car payment on time and CNAC called me and my 75 year old grandmother both at least 20 times. At one point yesterday they called my grandma while she was at work and when she answered the phone CNAC was threatening to garnish her wages. So she paid the amount due and they told her that the next payment will be due on March 24th, they have been calling me repeatedly this morning trying to get more money from me or my grandma when my car payment is up to date. I was really hoping to at least have my car after I pay it off but the amount of money I\'ve put into the car on repairs and things that still need to be repaired I\'m not sure that will be the case.

I have been harassed multiple times by phone calls, text messages daily, they even called references that shouldn\'t even have been called and lord behold if you\'re late 1 hour on a payment they\'re blowing your phone up as if you\'ve stolen something. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Having bi-weekly payments should be illegal because sometimes you get moths that you have 3 payments. seriously, if you have bad credit and you\'re desperate which I was, please just save and look elsewhere. Catching public transportation is not that bad. It will save you that 12,000 in interest. They charge you on an overly priced vehicle that isn\'t even worth what they\'re selling. Terrible company! Tomatoes Tomatoes !!

I have a loan through Cnac and they have been trying to take money out of my account without my permission. They also call, text, email and call my references multiple times a day when my payment is due. They are actually harnessing me I feel. Please let me know. Thank you

CNAC harassment; threatening me within email.

I have had multiple issues with this company ever since I got the car last August. They harass everyone I know, the portfolio manager Samantha and the guy who keeps calling me Michael from CNAC are both rude! My card continues to be charged without consent and also, I have been harassed for payments when they\'re not even a day late yet. I am working hard to get out of this vehicle ASAP. My credit have gone up 100+ point since I had to go through ByRider due to low credit. I just wanna take my current credit score and income and completely get a new vehicle. Today is Friday, I just gave them $270 on Monday and he text me today saying there will be no more secure hold on my account after 2pm today. I need help getting out of this vehicle with these rude people calling my family constantly sometimes before they even reach out to me.

I financed a vehicle through cnac in Maryland in October 2021. I found myself in a situation that made having a car essential and since I had a poor credit score that I had been working to improve for a while this was pretty much one of the only options I had at the time. First off I had looked online at the vehicles they had available there prior to going to meet with them and I had a few cars in mind that I was interested in however when they looked at my credit score I was told all of the cars I asked about were not options for me in fact I was not given any options I was told they have an SUV that someone just traded into them for something else and that was the only vehicle they would show me. again I was not in a position that would allow me the time to search for something somewhere else so I agreed to the only option I was given of a 2011 ford escape. They then told me I needed a larger down payment than I had available and my first 2 payments were paid towards the down payment and to that I then didn\'t have any cash left to pay for the required down payment for car insurance so they said I had to get the insurance through them as well and add close to $50 to each bi-weekly car payment of $228.15 making me responsible for an almost $300 payment every 2 weeks. so the next morning I go to leave for work at 5 am and I already have a flat tire which turned out to be from 2 nails that were already in the tire. a few months after I financed the car I had a change in jobs, going from getting paid weekly to every 2 weeks and paydays were the opposite week my cnac payments were due so I called my representative at cnac and let her know about the change and that the payment I had due the next week would be very difficult for me to make on the current pay schedule and proceeded to ask her to change my payment due dates I even offered to pay a one week payment to keep my account current as it had been 100% paid in full and on time if not 2 days early most times and her first response was we won\'t change the due dates and that it\'s in the contract I signed for payments to be made on the current schedule...after some back and forth, and myself and every single reference on my account received multiple phone calls and text messages that started at noon on the day my payment was due she finally said she talked to the bank and they have changed the due dates but that it was a one time thing and they don\'t and wont do that again. anyway, I have now had the car for what is almost 2 years, and with the exception of the one payment being only 4 days late but only from changing the due dates I have made all payments 100% on time or most times 2 days earlier and always in full. I have had several problems with the car and had to replace the battery, and 4 or 5 months ago I spent $648 on replacing the ac compressor that locked up stopping the car from starting. then after months of problems with the car feeling sluggish and smelling like something was burning also a lot of frequent clouds of smoke coming from the front tires I had the front brakes changed and found a hole worn in the caliper and no pads on the left front brake pads. still have a lot of issues with the car I finally took it to Mr tire and had the brake system fully inspected they found that the brake hose was faulty and had been all twisted up with a pin hole-size leak and they say that this had more than likely been an existing problem and they sold it to me like that. After it\'s all said and done that existing problem cost me almost $1000 trying to find the problem and then repairing it. Now in addition to the fact that I had to pay all that money at the time my payment was due I also missed 3 days of work on that paycheck due to being out sick so I called my representative days before the payment was due to fill her in on all of this and ask for a one-time payment deferment and she says they have no grace periods and they don\'t do deferments either and at this point, she is being very rude and treating me as if I have missed payments and never been on time so after a lengthy conversation and a lot of nasty remarks and attitude from her she says I can email her a copy of the paystub showing I was missing hours and she would show the bank but they probably won\'t want to do it and she can\'t guarantee they won\'t cont take my car so I sent her an email with my paystub attached I even sent her a copy of the doctors note putting me out of work for 3 days. but then here it is Friday around lunchtime on the day the payment is due so it\'s not yet even late, also it\'s the day after I spent all kinds of money on a problem the car already had and it was sold to me with, and I\'m getting phone calls and texts threatening court action and garnishment of my wages. then the next day I decided to email her again this time explaining to her all of the problems that the brake hose caused to my car. I was told by the mechanic that I could have been in an accident at any point and he was surprised it didn\'t happen due to the condition of the brake hose and all the damage it caused to the tires, the brakes, and the pads plus the new caliper that was installed last month had already been damaged and was seized and from the massive heat, all the friction caused when the caliper seized it had the brakes engaged the entire time I drove the car and it could have caught on fire with me and my son and family inside. i attached a copy of the bill and the invoice from Mr tire and a copy of the brake inspection as well and I gave her all the information on when my payment would be made which will only make me around 9 days late total and it\'s the only time I\'ve ever had a payment made late which I let her know days before it was due and she has still been calling me and all of my references every single day multiple times a day like I had not talked to her and like I had not been in constant contact with her since the day I knew I would be late on one payment. she\'s been acting like I am dodging her and trying to get away with something and calling all my family and references like I\'ve not been paying my car payments and I have been nothing but on time and always in full up until this time and I\'ve kept her informed yet shes leaving voice mails on my uncles cell phone like she cant find me or something i mean I\'ve talked to her she knows the payment is coming soon and i sent her copies of all my forms and papers to show it all but still im treated like im doing something wrong and im being threatened and treated like shit being very disrespected when i did everything any other bank or finance company would appreciate the fact that I was in contact and gave them all information and proof along with the fact that she already knows that I\'m about to make the payment. I am very sick to my stomach at the lack of any kind of empathy or caring on her part not just that but the fact that she acts like I have not called her and emailed with her and like she doesn\'t know where to find me or like I\'m running from her. I live about 34 miles away from her office and she has my address on file along with all of my emails with attached proof of it all. so why is calling my references acting like she\'s looking for me or can\'t get in touch with me? this is the part that gets me the most because it sure feels as if she\'s calling my family and references just to put it out there that I\'m a few days late on a payment and I feel like that since I\'ve actually given everything she could ask for and more proof to go with it and I\'ve talked to her on the phone at least twice over the last 4 days with me being the one that called her to keep in touch with her on the situation and also I have proof of all the emails and attachments I sent her in the last 5 days as well all of which leaves her with no questions and no reasons to be calling me to -let alone calling any one of my references was completely uncalled for. this whole situation has me very unnerved.

I have received multiple harassing emails from this company threatening they are going to repossess the car when I am less than 30 days past due. They are rude and condescending. They told me I “missed my promise to pay” a day before it was actually promised (I made payment on the day I promised) The interest rate is incredibly high and I know I went in to the contract but there should be SOME kind of limitation on how long you can pay on a car and still owe what you bought it for.

Got the van November 5,2022 On Feb 13, 2023 I was driving down I-24 from Antioch. Car stopped shifting gears. Left car, next day dealership sent tow truck to pick up the car, left key in car. As of March 11, I returned a Turo rental. Picked up vehicle 3/15/23 When I returned from work trip 4/24/23 vehicle running hot, vehicle sat for at least 1 week before byrider could get it looked at Had rental from 4/29-5/11 Picked up vehicle July 9,2023 I was driving to the store around 9pm and noticed it wasnt changing gears. Pulled over, reshifted and tried again, same thing. Took it home and parked it never touched it again. Called CNAC multiple times, service department would have JD Byrider service department contact me. The manager there was very rude and has no customer service skills at all. Spoke with him 3 or 4 times. I refused to pay at the top for towing and diagnostic fees, asked if they would apply it to the bill after the vehicle is serviced they said no. So at this point Im tired of dealing with the vehicle so I told the to come get it. Picked up on July 21.2023 All this time I have paid more than $1500 in transportation fees while the vehicle is down. CNAC has called me multiple times a day, called my references and threating them with repossession. There has been times I have spent hours on the phone with various agents trying to get someone to help me with the lemon of a vehicle. Please help me get out of this loan with these people

Byrider complaint. Purchased car in Jan 2022 after my car broke down, was going through a divorce and didn’t have great credit. Within the first two weeks the car broke down and wouldn’t start in the middle of the pick up line at my kids school. Byrider towed the car and “fixed” it. A few months later I took the car in because the air conditioner didn’t work. The compressor needed replacing. I couldn’t afford this so I continued to drive the vehicle without air. That December the entire clutch needed replacing, costing me $2500. This is all within the first year of owning the car. A few weeks ago the gears got sticky and wouldn’t allow me to shift easily. The car stalled out many times. The repair shop said it was the cables and though they tried to fix them, the transmission was going to need repair. The car is worth $2500. I owe $13,000. It is a 2012 car, over ten years old. I plan to surrender the car and bring it back to Byrider. From reading all of these other accounts, I can see I am in a world of trouble. Best way to proceed and handle this? I have never been late on a payment to them and I’m about to ruin my credit by surrendering the car. It is no longer safe to drive and I need a car to work and am a single mom. I have no choice. I believe I’m being charged 20% interest on this vehicle. And I owe more than double what it is worth.

Have received several calls, letters, etc. but cannot access my account to even see what is owed on the loan. I know i have paid more towards my vehicle than what they are claiming, but they have locked me out of my account to even access payments made.

I am responding to the complaints about Byrider I sent this to my states attorney General. Nothing became of it . My credit is ruined still . Still don’t understand why there’s not a class action lawsuit agian at this company I am writing you in regards to JD Byryder/ Cnac Financing . In august of last year (2019) i was in need of a car . I didnt have a lot of money for a down payment and was looking for something affordable with low down payment and low monthly payments . I came across an ad that said JD Byryder 99$ down on a vehicle and they accepted all credit on the internet . I looked at google ratings and JD Byryders were like 4.3 and had thousands of reviews . So I clicked on there website and filled out an application for a vehicle . I got a call a little later asking to send proof of employment , and a few other things which I did . He called me back and told me he could help me and for me to come up to Davenport Iowa . I live in muscatine so when my husbsnd got off work we went up there . When we got there they told me they would need for him to be on the loan since he had been at his job for 25 years and me only 2 . We filled out the applications the 20 references everything we sat there and waited for hours for them to do I dont know what after hours of being there they told us payments would be around 199 . I thought thats awsome I can afford that . I asked them about several cars and was told they need 1500- 2000 down for each car I liked . They told me i had 2 choices and neither one was in good condition . By that time it was after there closing time . They then said we may be able to get you in that black car over there and he would let us know . It wasnt something I wanted either . So being exhausted from being there all day They said they would get ahold of us the next day . The following day . We recieved a call from them saying great news we got you approved for the black car . I figured o better get it or od regret it later when there down paumemts went from 99$ to 1000$ so we went back to davenport the next morning . After sitting there for hours again they finaly came and said lets get you some credit built up . I was so happy they were giving me a chance . They then told me i needed a 1000 down for the car . I told them I didnt have that much and what about the 99$ down they said all there 99$ down cars were sold at the moment . They said they would work with me and for the the next 2 months i could give them.250 every 2 weeks to make my 1000 down . I still hadnt drove the car found out the year mileage make of the car anything only seem it . They told me to test drive it but had 10 minute drive . We drove the car .It wasnt wjat i wanted at all but felt like it was my only option The calr hald 113,000 miles on it and was a 2012 .We came back and said we would get it .They then told us to go next door to the finance dept were sat in a little room and waited another hour for someone to come and tell us we qere going to be video taped . I found that very strange just to sign papers ? Anyway we still hadnt been told price of the car . She then told us 199 every 2 weeks . When i thought it was once a month . It was like they were treating us like we couldnt get any better deals . I wanted to back and out and I regret it evey day since then I didnt but i nee i needed a way to go to work .or i would be jobless so after what seemed like hours . I was so exhausted and just wanted to go .We signed so many papers and the lady talked like a robot . She said 13,000 )somethong for the car i thought for a 2012 chrysler 200 with over 100, 000 miles wow. But me not knowing much about buying cars and financing i thought i guess that may be right after finance charge and it would only take 3 ½ years to pay of and that is what i needex to do to build my credit . I would do it, And after a year or so of on time payments maybe they would kwt me trade it in for aomething I liked . Once we got the car. Things got worse . The lady from CNAC on my opinion was haradding us . Its like they called or did something everyday . For starters we faxed the insurance papers over to them within a few days of getting the car coverage starting the day we recieved the car . Over the labor day weekend they decided to take 36$ out of my account for isurance .causing me to over draft . When i called her and told her qe faxed the insurance papers last week why wpuld they do that . She accused me of lying then was like oh there the paper is . It may be no big deal to them but it was to me I had to pay the overdraft fee plus another one because i thought there was money in bank for ¹another bill . It seemed like everyday we got a call from them about something . She would tell us qe need to answer our phones when she calls and my husband needs to set up his voicemal so they can leave him messages . I work and cant pick up the phone nor can he when they call everytime . We agreed on payments to be made every other friday to be taken out at 4 pm thru bank account . They would call everythursday and remind . Then on payment day between 11 am3-30 pm i would get a call asking me where paymnet was i would tell them the agreed time was 4 pm .and she wouldnt say nothing but ok we will see it at 4 then but they would still try and take it out earlier. It was very stressful i tryed to block therr number at one point because every time i answered the phone the things they would say would upset .me so bad . Aftwr making the 1000 down . I got a call the following friday . At my work becaue I didnt answer my phone askjng me for payment . She was mean about it saying we need payment I todl her we just paid last friday .She told me that 199 was due and they told me when i got the car . I told them i didnt remeber . And i had no way yo pay them that week . So she says we have to sign a new paper or something becaue we broke contract. And i i told her i didnt mean to . I believe that they go and find your location through the trackers on your car. Its like she new exactly where i was at . Ive had them call at 7 at night asking me for the money telling me it wasn\'t in the bank . I would get on my online banking and see where that cnac had a hild on the money and tell them im looking at my account and its saying you guys have a hold on it . ¹they never appoigized ever. If i could only describe the stress . This company has put me through .. one friday i was working and running a little behind making it to the bank . My replacement didnt ahow up for work that day . My payment is due at 4 o clock . I was unable to make it the bank till 5 during that hour she had called my phone 3 times and my husband\'s 4 times about payment that was the only time i ever was late with payment by 1 hour . .i could go on and on and tell you how awful I was treated . But the part thats killing me is i hit a deer had full coverage insurance . The insurance company totaled the car out . I find out book value on that 13000 car is 3700 . So im thininking that we almost have the car paid of with rhe 3700 plus the 400 a month payment i had been making for a 2012 car But the cnac said i owe almost 9000 still on the car . I found all my paper work and they sold me the car for 13000 and another 7000 interest . They wanted us to go get another car from them saying they would add the loan on to the other car we at that point decided we would rather walk then Deal with them . We have kept up with the payment s even though it’s killing us financially. We found a car got then 3 weeks later the bank calls and has cnac on 3 way asking what are we going to do about paying for the chrysler my husband told them. He has been paying it why would that matter well after that phone call the dealership called made us return the vehicle . Said the bank pulled out of loan . I dont understand why by ryder woukd be talking to the bank . As long as we were current with them? It made me feal like such a failure . I had no way to get to work nothing . But i took the vehicle back it was not ours but it was something i realy liked and wish I could of kept it . I finaly after months of being turned down by at least 50 loan company was able to get a vehicle. A lot of thr dealerships couldn\'t figure out why my loan couldn\'t get approved I get that we made the deal with devil with cnac but it cant be right what they are doing . They sold us the car for 3 times plus interest. what it was worth have made my credit worse . Have lied to me harrased us . They also started taking an extra .38 cents out of my account it\'s not much but i dont see anything on. My contract saying anything about the .38 extra cents . . I feel what they have done is harassment. . Along with several other things its like they think they own you . Even with my payments current they would call several times a week for something or other. I know there is nothing i can do for myself and the situation i am in but i would like to prevent them from setting someone up for failure and being harassed.

Hi, I have been royaly screwed by Byrider, I got the car when i was living in NC and moved toPhiladelphia this year after going through a crisis, one year of owning the vehicle i have had to have multiple jobs done to it in cluding the transmission going after a year and 3 months. I was still expected to pay on everything and now im in such a deep financial hole i cant see the light of day is there anything i can do to get out of this or even get my money back for such a terrible car? I told them i wanted to return the car because it was obviously a lemon and they threatend me with repo and I would still be forced to pay it without the vehicle even tho it would have been a voluntary repo. They constantly threaten me and I need help getting out of this im at my wits end with these people

CNAC located inside Byrider of Greenville SC harassed me the morning of the payment due date before the day was even over to the point I could not focus at work. They would threaten me and literally call me at work up to 10 times as well as send text all day. The payment wouldnt even be late at all. They also deceived me about payments and literally had me there waiting on paper work so long that my ride had already left, they were closed for the day and I was so tired and had no other way home to even be able to back out of the deal once they finally had the paperwork ready for me to sign. They set their customers up for complete failure intentionally.

CNAC is terrible. Downright terrible. I am late on a payment I get it but Samantha in the Bloomington office is rude and she asks questions about your personal life. She one asked me how I can afford rent if I can’t afford my car. I’m the only one working my husband stays at home with my son until he gets what he needs to work. They harass me daily. I’ve told them I can make a payment next week and they keep their nonsense up about violating the contact when I have a picture of the contract that says you can be ten days late. I’m tired of her asking personal questions. I’m tired of this car place. I asked to refinance she said yes and never got back to me. The car broke down within a month of getting it I was stranded twice all they said was “oh well” never even offered to make it right. They sold me a car for way more than it’s worth with everything wrong with it. I want out of this contract but they are threating to sue me and garnish my wages. HELP
