I received a SD tax bill from keystone for 2011 and 2012 for a address I haven't live at 2012 and did not know the bill even existed till they tried to collect in 2014 ! How can they wait that long to notify me of it as interest piles up ? Is there anything I can do ? Thanks

Hi, I just received a letter from collection agency representing city of Allentown saying that I have to pay them over $1K for 2011 taxes. I reviewed my fed and state 2011 returns as well as my two W2's; One of the employers did collect city taxes; another (Jan - April) did not. So the collection agency wants an extra $560 plus penalty plus something else total over 1K. Can you help me with the advise? I can email all those documents to you. Thanks, Alex

Since Keystone being a collection agent what makes them a legitimate tax collector ,since we have a tax collector elected official .I see this as a nuisance tax.If you respond to this letter it would be apperciated , i have no intention to pay this and will go to court but most likely will just keep adding penalty thank you for reading this email

I heard the neighbors complaining about Keystone Collections Group Per Capital Tax for Reading PA. They were complaining about the abusive late payment charges and the Per Capital Tax without receiving a notice or bill. I called on 12/18/2019 to check if I am not a victim of their interest charges without notice and to check when the next bill will be sent. The representative told me that I paid 2019 and 2017 per Capital Tax but I did not pay the 2018 Per Capital Tax. I asked them why if the 2018 Per Capital Tax was not paid why they did not add it to the 2019 invoice for me to be aware and to pay the balance to avoid the high late payment. I also ask them why I did not receive a notice for 2018. They said that I was supposed to know it because I should pay the Per Capital Tax every year. They did not give me information about filing a dispute. They said that the law allowed them bill citizens for the current Per Capital Years without showing if the citizens have an unknown past due balance. In my opinion it is unfair and unconstitutional

Keystone attempted to scam me in the same way they have to hundreds of others. They sent me a bill saying I was delinquent on an occupation tax and had to pay $400 within ten days or they would garnish my wages. First off, I did not live in harrisburg during that time and am not required to pay it. Secondly, I received no prior notice of these at any time in the two years of question, only the delinquent letter was sent to me. This is the same scam they pull on everyone, saying they sent other notices without actually doing so, and then charging exorbitant late fees.

I received noticed from my work that Keystone is garnishing my wages due to owed money from 2013 and 2014 on local municipality taxes. They doing this during the pandemic, my husband is out of work, and now, after 5 YEARS they are going after my wages. I had no idea this was even legitimate. I thought this was a scam that the IRS tells you about.

I just received a "Certified" Letter yesterday telling me I owe $881 for past due school district taxes from 2015 for the Penn Hills SD. I didn't even LIVE in the Penn Hills SD the entire year of 2015 and NEVER received anything telling me of this supposedly unpaid tax before. This is the first I have heard about it and now they are telling me that they are going to garnish my wages - it is the middle of a pandemic and I barely make enough to pay rent and keep my lights on. I need help, PLEASE!!!!!

Hi Carrie. If Keystone Collections Group is attempting to collect on a debt that you don't owe, you can report them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, your Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau. It is illegal for them to make up a debt and attempt to collect on it. The FDCPA gives you the right to have the debt collector verify your debt through debt validation and if they can't provide proof, they can't collect on the debt. This has some limitations and we can discuss that in more detail when I call you. Thanks, Mike

Hi Allison. This is a common tactic by Keystone Collections Group. The good news is that you can make them prove the debt under the FDCPA and a process known as debt validation. If you'd like help in dealing with Keystone, give me a call at 312-224-4695. Thanks, Mike

Hi Anjan. Do you owe the debt, or is this a debt that you may not owe? Have you asked them to provide a debt validation? I would ask them for proof of the debt and ask them for a breakdown of the amount you owe. If you would like help with that, give me a call at 312-224-4695. Thanks, Mike

They have been garnishing my wife’s wages over taxes that we already paid. They took our money over Christmas while we were quarantined at home with COVID. I had to borrow money to cover the holidays. We submitted every piece of documentation they requested and they keep garnishing and ask for more documents.

They are unwilling to help me reasonably resolve a local tax debt that occurred bc I worked out of state for over 10 years. They are very rude and not customer service friendly. I’ve been paying $50 each towards the debt for close to 18 months or more. They are not being helpful since I’ve indicated I cannot afford to have 10% of my gross income garnished, especially since I’ve been affected economically by Covid...

We were having issues with our landlord regarding damages to the apartment. He originally asked us for $1560 plus interest on top of our $3300 security deposit. We told him we were seeking legal advice since this has never happened to us before. He is now stating that he will be sending it to Keystone Collection Agency for almost $4000 because we wasted his time seeking legal help.

Hi Karli. It sounds like your landlord is trying to frustrate and scare you into payment for the damages to your apartment. Did you take before and after pictures of the apartment? Do you dispute the damages he's claiming? Let's talk some more so I can get some further information from you. Give me a call at my office and we can have a free, no-obligation consultation. You will have absolutely nothing to lose! I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Mike

Hello, Keystone Collections Group is a school tax collector in PA. They erroneously garnished both my husband's and my wages to collect a debt that they later determined we did not owe. The total amount collected was close to 2k for an alleged debt of $1300. They have since been slowly paying us back in checks averaging around $150 each. We are still owed over 1k and while they admit this they will not send us a lump sum and they will not provide us an accounting sheet of total collections and what is to be refunded. This loss has caused us a hardship and we need the funds back as quickly as they took them. Can you assist? Thanks!

Hi Colleen. It can be frustrating when a company takes your money quickly but then can't repay you in a timely manner even if they were in the wrong. And in this economy, holding out on the money they owe you can be devastating for sure. I would like to talk this over with you to see how I can help and I will be giving you a call. Thanks, Mike

I got a copy of the Wage Garnishment letter from my new employer regarding Delinquent Tax, Statutory Interest, Penalty, and Act 192 Levy. There is no indication of the tax year in the copy. When I filed last year\'s tax, there was no delinquency in my online account on 10/15/2022.

\"KEYSTONE COLLECTIONS\" I can’t fathom the level of corrupt manipulative practices this company displays. So apparently 2017 and 2018 my employer “Siemens” made a mistake and did not take out enough for East Allegheny School District while I rented and lived in North Versailles at that time. The total owed for the 2 years was $487.96. I had no idea was missed. KeystoneCollections and I have recently gained communications over the matter. I made this payment to them directly along with a communication through their website specifically stating that the payment is to be directed to the owed taxes and not for their outrageous fees that total more than 60% of what I owed. I told them I did not request their services nor do I agree to their fees or any of their terms. They neglected to fulfill my payment intentions and proceeded to manipulate my account in a way that they have now garnished my wages. There is no way they should be allowed! This garnishment will interfere with my monthly financial payment structure and could cause a waterfall of potential late payments. What are my options?

I had disputed a claim by keystone last year and submitted appropriate documents. I spoke with them several times through the year to check the status of the claim to which they responded that I didn\'t need to call that they wo7ld send a determination letter. They never sent one and today I received a notice of wage garnishment for two weeks from now.

I received a delinquent tax notice for per capita taxes from 2017, beginning in 2022. I called both the local jurisdiction (Claysburg-Kimmel) and Keystone to ask why I wasn\'t notified of this for over 5 years since due date, and basically, the township turned over files without verifying anything. Granted, the bill is $41.50 on an original tax of $15, but I suspect these in appropriate practices (no verification, fees over 100% of original bill) are in practice and affecting residents everywhere. A class action suit may be in order.

hello - in 2019, my family sold our home in Berwyn PA, and had a new townhome built in Chester Springs PA. We had to rent a place in Conshohocken PA for 4 months. The local earned income taxes were complex, so I hired a firm nearby to do them. We paid all the EIT taxes in all 3 municipalities, but keystone collects insists that we did not pay our Chester Springs EIT taxes and owe delinquent taxes. Our EIT taxes come out of our paychecks depending on our address - we kept these up to date. My wages are now being garnished, despite myself and accountant proving we paid all 3 municipalities (we only lived in Chester Springs for 65 days, and they insist we owe a full year\'s worth of EIT plus penalties - over 4K !). I can prove all payments, and show the accountant\'s work (Phoenix Tax Consultants, Phoenixville PA. Dan Frazier CPA). THANK YOU for any help!!

Hello, Keystone sent me a delinquent taxes for 2013, 2014 stating I did not pay local taxes. I sent them W-2’s showing them the tax was withheld. Now they want me to fill out residency forms. I told them I was not sure those years when I had changed my residency from Texas to PA. I informed them of this and they said I need to fill them out. I don’t trust them and it seems like they are fishing. Can you give me advice on how to proceed. Thank you

I take 0 deductions for my taxes every year. The full amount is withheld Last year they stated I had not paid any local taxes and asked for my w2. I provided my w2 for the year, and then they stated it was insufficient proof of paid taxes, and demanded paystubs. As i didnt have paystubs available from roughly 4 years ago, they then garnished my wages of about $1000 USD. I thought it was over and done with, but now they are starting the same process for the 2021 calendar year. If/When they reject my w2 again as insufficient proof and extra-judiciously garnish my wages will I have any recourse?

I just received a notice of wage garnishment from Keystone Collects after receiving a letter earlier in the year. They claim I owed $1.040. 70 from 2019 and 2020. Their reported numbers do no match my filed and completed tax returns for those years. When I called them in response, they even verbally said I don\'t owe them. Then I got this notice. If I did owe them my taxes due from those years it would be a combined $388.24. But, again, their own site reports them as complete and I was told I don\'t owe them.

I was notified by Keystone that I am delinquent in my Media Borough taxes. They sent me the same letter last year also - which was resolved in my favor. Again, like last year, I don\'t live in the Media (PA) Borough. I contacted them on September 14, 2023 but Keystone didn\'t respond and sent me another delinquent letter in which I never received a that response. I\'m again sent the necessary documents and also contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I commented - without response, that I hope this issue can be resolved quickly and again hope you can remove me from their database so I am not constantly harassed by Keystone. And that they please expedite a notice stating that this issue has been resolved. (FYI, please email or text me any reply, our home doesn\'t have good connectivity)

keystone collection group are trying to garnish my wages for back taxes that i do not owe! the tax bill is for the year 2017 when i lived in Philadelphia pa. i bought my house in Warminster pa in may of 2018 and have paid all taxes due. I reach out to them everytime they mail me a past due letter and tell them that they are wrong, they become rude and aggressive while explaining a multitude of forms i need to fill out and a huge process to go through before i can prove that i didn\'t live there in 2017. i believe it is their company policy to blindly send these letters out in hopes that people will just send a payment because they make it extremely difficult to prove the truth. i worry that they prey on elderly or disables people

Keystone Collections Group not only incorrectly came after me for a 2022 per Capita tax when I did not live/work in the county it stated, but after I sent them the proof and they dismissed it they waited to send out a garnishment letter to my employer. So now I\'ve lost money and paid a tax debt that I did not have to begin with. They also NEVER sent me any communication until I had gotten this garnishment notice from my employer. They say they only send out the letters once a week!!!
