Synchrony Bank Lawsuits

If you want to know just how unhappy consumers are with Synchrony Bank, take a look at the number of complaints consumers have made online. Nowadays, most original creditors, credit card companies, etc. have arbitration clauses, which means that if you have a complaint against that company, you must file your claim in arbitration. Arbitration limits discovery, is not public, has a limited appellate process, and, most importantly, is funded primarily by the banks and big businesses. While it can be difficult to get a fair chance in arbitration, the good news is we have filed hundreds of credit harassment cases in arbitration, and we know how to aggressively fight these cases against the big banks and businesses even when arbitration is necessary.

Synchrony Bank Complaints

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) protects you from robocalls, which are those annoying, automated, recorded calls that computers make all day long. You can tell it’s a robocall because either no one responds on the other end of the line, or there is a delay when you pick up the phone before a live person responds. You can receive $500 per call if violates the TCPA. Have you received a message from this agency that sounds pre-recorded or cut-off at the beginning or end? These are tell-tale signs that the message is pre-recorded, and if you have these messages on your cell phone, you may have a TCPA case against the agency.

The Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) protects electronic payments that are deducted from bank accounts. If took unauthorized deductions from your bank account, you may have an EFTA claim against the agency. , like most collection agencies, wants to set up recurring payments from consumers; imagine how much money it can earn if hundreds, even thousands, of consumers electronically pay them $50 – $100 or more per month. If you agreed to this type of reoccurring payment, the agency must follow certain steps to comply with the EFTA. Did continue to take electronic payments after you told them to stop? Did they take more money from your checking account than you agreed to?  If so, we can discuss your rights and potential case under the EFTA.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) works to ensure that no information reported to your credit report is false. In essence, it gives you the right to dispute those inaccuracies that you find on your credit report. We’ve handled many cases in which a debt collection agency reported debt on a consumer’s credit report to obtain leverage over the consumer. If is on your credit report, they may tell you that they’ll remove the debt from your credit report if you pay it; this is commonly known as “pay for delete.” If the original creditor is on your report rather than the debt collector, and you pay off the debt, both entities should accurately report this on your credit report.

Several states also have laws to provide its citizens an additional layer of protection. For example, if you live in California, Florida, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Wisconsin, you may be able to add a state-law claim to your federal law claim above.  North Carolina, for example, has one of the most consumer-friendly statutes in the country: if you live in NC and are harassed over a debt, you may receive $500 – $4,000 in damages per violation. We work with a local counsel in NC and our NC clients have received some great results in debt collection harassment cases. If you live in North Carolina and are being harassed by a debt collector, you have leverage to obtain a great settlement.

How can we Use the Law to Help You?

We will use state and federal laws to immediately stop ’s debt collection. We will send a cease-and-desist letter to stop the harassment today, and if violates the FDCPA, EFTA, FCRA, or any state law, you may be entitled to money damages. For example, under the FDCPA, you may receive up to $1,000 in damages plus actual damages. The FDCPA also has a fee-shift provision, which means the debt collector will pay your attorneys’ fees and costs. If you have a TCPA case against the agency, we will handle it based on a contingency fee and you won’t pay us a dime unless you win.

THAT’S NOT ALL…

We have helped hundreds of consumers stop phone calls from and we know how to stop the harassment and get you money damages. Once again: you will not pay us a dime for our services. We will help you based on a fee-shift provision and/or contingency fee, and the debt collector will pay your attorneys’ fees and costs.

What if Synchrony Bank is on My Credit Report?

Based on our experience, some debt collectors may credit-report, which means one may mark your credit report with the debt they are trying to collect. In addition to or instead of the debt collector, the original creditor may also be on your credit report in a separate entry, and it’s important to properly identify these entities because you will want both to update your credit report if or when you pay off the debt.

THE GOOD NEWS IS…

If is on your credit report, we can help you dispute it. Mistakes on your credit report can be very costly: along with causing you to pay higher interest rates, you may be denied credit, insurance, a rental home, a loan, or even a job because of these mistakes. Some mistakes may include someone else’s information on your credit report, inaccurate public records, stale collection accounts, or even being a victim of identity theft. If you have a mistake on your credit report, there is a process to dispute it, and my office will help you obtain your credit report and dispute any inaccurate information.

REMEMBER…

If a credit reporting agency violates its obligations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you may be entitled to statutory damages up to $1,000, and the credit reporting agency will be required to fix the error. The FCRA also has a fee-shift provision, which means the credit reporting agency will pay your attorneys’ fees and costs. You won’t owe us a dime for our services. We have helped hundreds of consumers fix inaccurate information on their credit reports, and we’re ready to help you, too.

Synchrony Bank Complaints against

If you’re on this page, chances are you are just like the hundreds of consumers out there being harassed by Synchrony Bank. Here are some of the reviews and complaints against :

  1. “Regarding Synchrony: They take much longer than any other bank to post; they don’t always send e-mail confirmations of transactions; in one week they have lost two separate mobile deposits; even when they have a mobile deposit, it doesn’t show up as “pending” on the website. It’s completely invisible until it posts, and their staff have no access to check for you either. I’m getting out as fast as I can and would NEVER recommend this shoddy outfit to anybody!”
  2. “Worst company because their customer service team is argumentative and refuse to provide copies of statements via email and you can’t obtain them via their website. I didn’t receive a copy of my statement this month which I need in order to submit to accounting for payment. I was refused a copy via email and they claim all they can do is mail a copy which takes 10 days but that will not extend my due date which is tomorrow. Horrible service, with today’s technology there shouldn’t be any reason they can’t email a copy of a current statement or have them available for download on their website. Each and every one of my other creditors can and will email me a copy of a statement immediately or they are accessible on line. Seems they want to find a reason to charge additional fees. Just bad business and completely unethical!
  3. “DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM. They constantly tack on late fees that have no bearing on reality, their system for automatic payments is completely broken! They consistently hang up on me when I will not pay the full amount on the phone! Refused to send any sort of receipt for my records of payments. I get constant harassing phone calls from employees all over the world, and the late fees they have places have made it almost impossible for me to get my balance back to date. They’ve charged me $500 of late fees that I haven’t been able to help!”

On Google, receives only a 2-out-of-5 rating based on over 20 reviews. Here are some of the reviews on Consumer Affairs:

  1. “Don’t do it! My Synchrony card is with Ashley Furniture, it’s a high-interest card. A lady from India called me, accused me of skipping payments. I told her that I have a record of all transactions. Then she said … don’t deny facts sir. I made extra payments, all payments were beyond minimum due. They still find ways to rob you. They are now adding late fees for being ahead. Make sense? This is not an American company.”
  2. “If I could give them less stars I would. They tack on extra late fees every month and they haven’t made it possible for me to pay on time once, then they add late fees which they won’t combine with a monthly payment. Constantly gouging extra money out of me and the customer service reps hang up on me if I don’t pay what they suggest I do. They also continually refuse to send me any receipts so that I am able to prove my payments.”
  3. “The most frustrating institution to deal with. No matter what you do it seems they find a way to add additional monthly fees and when you try and talk to customer service, you spend hours going through a terrible automated system just to be treated poorly by anyone who finally answers the phone. You are better off looking for change in local parking lots then trying to get this institution to assist you in any way.”

I have told these people to stop calling me. I have already spoke with Synchrony bank and made arrangements on my bill but they continue stating that they cannot stop the calls till the accts are taken care of. So this company ACCT, phone number: 866-445-6548 calls me 5 to 6 times a day from this number, but also from several others. So I get 20 calls sometimes in a day. This is been going on for 2 months now. I am wondering what can be done. They do not leave messages either!

Syncrony Bank falses reported a charge off despite my bringing the account up to date. I was told by customer service that it would be rolled back, but then was transferred to an overseas call center where I got the runaround. That is what this bank does - relies on its overseas staff to frustrate you to the point where you give up. It's not ok, and something should be done.

Syncrony accepted a $2000 payment which was more than the back payment owed, yet tells me that over memorial day weekend the account was in charge off status. I was told then by customer service in the U.S. since it had just been changed to that status, it could be removed. However the number she transferred me to was in India and then the Philippines. I either get hung up on or transferred to another country again when I ask for a supervisor. I asked to speak to someone stateside and I got India again. I finally got back to the U.S. and was told I could be helped, only to get transferred overseas again and the person had no understanding of what the previous rep had said. They continue this shell game until you're tired and frustrated. Their incorrect reporting will negatively impact my children's and my ability to start over after a divorce and potentially impact our ability to find a place to live and my getting a good job. I offered to pay the full amount for a pay for delete letter and got transferred again, ending up in circles. This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. They should not be allowed to treat consumers this way. No mail or email was received letting me know it was going to be charged off, and their robocalls were all hours of the day and night!

I was getting ready to do a refi on my house only to find that synchrony bank had posted 3 missed payments on all 3 bureaus, I sent copies of cashier's checks to all three bureaus showing I had not missed payments, to no avail, sided with synchrony with proof there in front of them. as of today I have sent then 3 letters disputing this in less than one month, still siding with bank, finally able to speak to Karen (supervisor) at synchrony, she said my bank (credit union) had put stop payment on checks and I should go to bank get bank letterhead stating they had not put stop payment on checks and then fax the information to her and she will remove the missed payments from my credit, I did as she requested and sent copies showing where synchrony had cashed the checks and I still have not gotten a response from her. Yesterday I faxed her again asking for some kind of response, still nothing...I'm going through a lot of trauma, I'm a disable viet nam era veteran with ptsd and lots other things, all this is taking a toll on my body, can't sleep at night, worrying that I won't be able to refinance my house and purchase acreage that I have a contract on. This is unbelievable...there's lots more but unable at this time to continue.

I made the mistake to get 2 Synchrony bank accounts, one through Discount Tire and the other through Amazon. Owe about $1500. Have faithfully made payments on due date via phone and the automated system tells me each time that the payment will post today, but does not specify the date. They have flooded me with late charges I have refused to pay, asking them to remove them because the system told me I made the payment on time. No success. Have read similar stories from customers who have autopay in place and get blasted with late fees regardless. Instead I am also getting harassed by robocalls which I do not answer. From at least 4-6 different numbers, some of which do not show at all. Been also sent certified letters, which I returned, also certified, saying why I refuse to pay the excess charges. Got another one last week which I refused to accept. I keep making the min payments while deducting the late charges. I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit against this bank for abusive/bullying business practices

On April 15, 2019 Synchrony sent a message directly to me from the customer portal online. Their letter of credit congratulated me of the $2,778. 85 and $699.00 awarded from successful charge debates. The total amount awarded is effective April 4, 2019 on my CareCredit Account. According to their 4/15 letter of credit, May's statement would show the reversed charges due to the April 3rd closing day. However, the only adjustment made in May is an additional interest item assessed against my account in the amount of $788. Upon my inquiry on or about May 5, 2019, Synchrony deleted all online messaging in my portal and spun a course of denial, blocking access to the April 15 letter of credit. I retained a copy of the letter on my hard drive. Do I have leverage to ensure the credit and eliminate credit problems from this incident in the future? The Letter of Credit is as follows: • From: Customer Service • To: WENDY Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your Synchrony Bank account, and the opportunity to be of service to you. I am pleased to let you know that a credit in the amount of $2778.85 and $699.00 was applied to your account on April 04, 2019, in response to your inquiry . If applicable, interest charges, fees, and delinquencies related to this adjustment have also been removed. These adjustments will appear on your next statement. We appreciate you as a valued Synchrony Bank account customer. Synchrony Bank fraudulently opened an unique account and then used PayPal to create a fraudulent charge to that unique account. I use PayPal, but always linked my debit card or AMEX card to pay a PayPal charge immediately. Two years later and $400 in late fees later, they claim I owe them! Synchrony Bank are crooks!!!

Synchrony bank locked my account, is refusing to give me access to funds or bank statements/transactions. They said they have to "review" my account. I've verified everything is good and even where my money came from and went to (even though its none of their business), they canceled a wire transfer I INITIATED fir a down payment for a car that I'm at risk of losing because they canceled it after I got the car.

Synchrony Bank lowered my credit limit on my HSN card when it was previously paid in full. Used the card recently and they lowered my credit limit to $100. I have never paid my HSN card, or any other card late. The letter stated I had no mortgage on my credit report (we have a mortgage and pay every month). When I went onto the HSN card site, it listed my income as ZERO, which is incorrect. I sent an email to Synchrony with the correct income (149k) and info re: mortgage and they sent a letter stating no changes will be made. Ridiculous. That will also drop my credit score as it reduces the available credit. No just cause in reducing my credit limit whatsoever. Awful company. Filing complaint with CFPB

They have illegally charged me fees for something they did intentionally to make my account not complete. They stopped applying payments to accounts that were set to be paid in full just prior to completion and charged me over 1,000 dollars in fees.

I'm interested in evaluating class action status against Synchrony Bank. They deliberately misapplied payments to ensure one promotional purchase (1 of 3 on the account) would fail to be paid off and thus accrue significant interest as a result. The credit card agreement allows Synchrony to apply payments "however they choose" which seems to be an extraordinarily loose and vague policy intended to allow for account manipulation. I'm not sure if there is a case but I doubt I am the only consumer affected. I've filed a complaint with Synchrony and they continue to respond saying they mailed me a letter in response - but no such letter has ever been received.

I am helping my 80 year old father to get rid of this Amazon card that was taken out in his name, without his permission. My father and I agreed that it would cost less just to pay it and close it. I had an in depth conversation with Synchrony Bank to do just this. I was explicit in saying "I have paid this account in full and it will be closed" I repeated this several times and the operator who represents this bank confirmed that with me. My father has recently begun to receive invoices again with a balance, and now they are charging him an interest on that balance. This is fraud, but I cannot stop them.

I have a Synchrony / Guitar Center CC. I purchased a guitar amplifier, June 2020, and then quickly returned it to GC. The GC store stamped my receipt‘ ‘returned merchandise”. I have the receipt! Synchrony will not accept it and continues to charge my card. In addition to receiving approximately two robo calls a day! My credit score is approximately 830 and I intend on keeping it that way! Thank you

I was signed up for a Belk Master Card/Synchrony Bank without being aware of this and a charge of $16.62 was applied. I paid this amt even though i NEVER physically used the card. I then received another bill for this amt. In order to protect my credit i paid it once more and requested to close this account. I have contacted Synchrony bank repeatedly because I continue to receive statements for this $16.62. I even received a refund of $16.62 because I paid this twice, and a email from Synchrony saying my acct is closed due to other reasons??? I requested it to b closed. I have received several emails saying I have a 0 balance and it has been taken care of yet i continue to receive statements from Belk for this same amt stating that a late fee will b charged if it is not paid!!!! Please help!! I have a major paper trail proving their continuing chain of errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PayPal has not been bought out by Synchrony bank and they are saying I have a PayPal account and now it’s been “charged off” bc I haven’t paid it. I refuse to pay debt that it not mine. I have opened up multiple fraud investigations with them and they still continue to say it’s been opened too long and won’t do anything about it. I do not want this hitting my credit for a debt that is not mine

Hello Leslie. I can understand the frustration you have, especially with a debt that isn't even yours. Have you requested a debt validation letter in writing? I would start there. If they fail to provide you with that letter, you then have a few options, which we can discuss when I give you a call. Thanks, Mike

Opened a Lowe's Card (Synchrony) last March - works great no issues. Opened a Sam's Club MasterCard (Synchrony) in February - approved on the spot - and used it to purchase $1,280 of goods. The next week received a letter from their Fraud Dept saying they needed to verify my SSN... and were restricting my Sam's AND Lowe's Card till verified. OK, no problem - but why my Lowe's? There was never a problem with my Lowe's when they checked me.... OK, so I send them the information they ask for, and I include a check for $1,280 and ask them to please zero my balance - I do not want a balance if there is a problem. Then 11 days later I get a statement - I still owe the $1,280 and it is due in 3 weeks. But I do not want a balance - I never carry a balance on any card - so I go on-line and pay it immediately. Then 3 days later, the Synchrony Fraud Department cashes my check and puts me in a credit balance. The Fraud Department must have access to my account, they must have seen I had a zero balance, yet the knowingly put my account into a credit balance... and kept the restriction in place so I can not access my account. They 'trapped' my $1,280 knowing I had no access to it. Called their customer service, and spoke with an account manager - she looked at it, and agreed it was wrong... but she could do nothing because the Fraud Dept 'worked behind closed doors' amd they could not fix it. Did their Fraud Department... commit Fraud? (by trapping my money and denying access to it).... Dave

I have only had my card for about 7 months what has happen is I used my card to make a purchase on EBay for $89.79 and was sent the wrong parts I ordered 40X 3.7 volt lithium polymer batteries with all wires attach what I got are 40 batteries with broken off wires exposing many bare wires and these batteries are live batteries with voltages ranging from 3.8 volts to 4.20 volts and these batteries were shipped to me illegally, I filed a dispute with EBay because that's the 1st step in getting a refund everything was going good with EBay and the case was due to end on 5-16-21, But on Tuesday the 5-11 I called PayPal credit (synchrony) I only called asking about how to file a dispute the rep asked what was going on I explained to her and all through the call I kept saying I am wanting information about filing a case I never once said I wanted to file a case with them and all through the call she kept wanting me to file a case with them and I kept stating I already had a case pending on EBay that was ending on the 16th at the very end of the call the rep said she was going to send in a dispute and again I said no I have a case pending with EBay and do not want to file a case, well it happen anyway a case was opened on the 12th causing EBay to cancel the dispute and it's been a nightmare I called them on the 13th about this and I have never been so humiliated by a bunch of idiots they keep saying I filed the case and I keep saying I did not and my proof is the phone call listen to the phone call it's recorded I never said I wanted to open a case but every call I get more and more upset no one will listen to the call they just keep saying I open up a case they all are lying because I finally got some info about who filed the case and it was someone working their and it was actually filed the day I called on the 11th and on the 12th it was cancelled and that's another problem one person tells me they did it and others say I filed the case and canceled it too but the day they say I canceled it was the 12th and I never called them on the 12th, Talk about business run by a bunch of thieves that's sychrony for sure. I have sent lots of information to help me prove my case and have spoke to many so called supervisors asking them to review the phone call and as far as I can tell it's never going to happen because I keep getting the blame. I called again on the 17th and was told that I should be getting a credit in 24 to 48 hours but instead I got charged 2 times for 89.79 once on the 12th and again on the 17th now I have 2 charges of 89.79 I called on the 18th about this other charge and no one would do anything about either charges again I have never been so stepped on by a bank that's supposed to be on my side when everything was caused by them they will never accept that they caused this issue and I keep getting more and more screwed over I can't understand why this is happening to me when I did nothing wrong and I also have told them I do not want these batteries sitting in my house anymore they are dangerous in the condition they are in with all the broken wires hanging loose I sent them information on how dangerous these batteries explained to them until I am blue in the face and they just don't care about my safety, These batteries can not be disposed of in a land fill or placed in heat so I can not even place them outside or in my garage because they can exploded they are making me live in dangerous conditions because unless this dispute that I think is open but from all the crap that has happen I have no clue if I actually have a case because of the duplicate charge as far as I can tell I got the duplicate because my disputes was most likely canceled, These people are so screwed up and I don't know what to do. (sorry for my punctuation it's bad I know)

Synchrony Bank/CareCredit closed my account despite payments made monthly. Now they are calling daily leaving recorded messages. I blocked most of the numbers they were calling from....but somehow they can still leave messages! It interferes with me knowing whether they are important (doctor) messages from VA. I have often not answered the phone because I am not sure if it is the recorded calls or important medical calls.

Hi Beth. I'm sure it is frustrating when you're dealing with medical issues and now Synchrony Bank persisting to call you. They always seem to find a way to get their calls through. Have you asked them to provide you with a debt validation letter to determine what the debt is for and if it is legitimate? You can do so, you have that right under the law. If you'd like some help with your rights, you can contact my office at 888-572-0176. Thanks, Mike

Back in September of 2020 I filed a fraud claim with Synchrony bank, becasue someone had run up nearly $5,000 on my PayPal account. It has been a nightmare since. They keep denying the case and telling me i owe the money. They have asked me to re-file the claim. I have reopened the case ate least 9 times. I have filled out the same paperwork more than 3 times including the police report and cyber investigation report each time. Everytime I talk to someone they know nothing of any investigation and ask me to repeat myself over and over again. One time they denied me becasue they had a question. But no one ever called me or sent me an email to ask the question. Everytime I call to follow up because they won't communicate with me, I get someone new. Apparently a different investigator is assigned Everytime i open a case, of course I can never talk to them. They have harassed, bullied and threatened me to pay to the debt. Early in the investigation I made one payment becasue of the harassment. They were calling me 4, 5, 6 times a day, everyday. Which is why I made that payment. They have destroyed my credit becasue of this. They continue to deny the fraud claim despite I have the police report, cyber investigation and statements from my personal bank (that was attached to PayPal at the time and was affected too). My bank cleared me and found the case to fraudulent. I feel I have been taken hostage by them.

Dear Arguss law firm, I feel I’ve been victim of a predatory loan through care credit/synchrony bank. I’ll keep it as short as possible … in 2018 I got a loan through their credit line for 8000. The secretary at the Doctors office who encouraged me to apply for the loan stated there would be no interest if paid before a certain time. Once I got the loan, I was never late with a payment to them, however when Covid started my clients stopped orders which would have allowed me to pay off my balance in a lump sum and I was not able to pay my loan before the interest rate kicked in, I also saw which I was foolishly not aware of that they had tagged on all of the interest which I wasn’t paying during the promotional period. ( I never imagined that they will charge me an extra $4000.) when I called synchrony about this I pleaded with them to please give me a month to gather the money to pay off my original loan, they said they couldn’t do that and eventually ended up offering me an interest free hardship payment plan but did not remove the $4000 extra accrued interest, totaling back up to $8000. To date, I’ve more than paid off my original $8000 loan … I sincerely don’t believe that I should fall victim to paying them another cent and have stopped paying them any more since June of 2022. I haven’t answered their collection calls, and the calls have since stopped … I know I have to be prepared and simply want to ask if you guys would be able to help in the almost inevitable case that they pursue any further collection efforts or lawsuit. Most Sincerely, Ambrus

I did make the purchases of roughly 3200 and about 2 years later I decided to pay the bad debt so I phoned them and made payment arrangements. They have been taking payments from me for 2 years and now I am 700 away from paying it off and they are suing me in court. I don’t understand and I don’t know what to do.

Hello, I was in contact with your firm prior regarding Synchrony Bank and a gigantic interest fee placed on my loan with them I was basically forced to close my account with them and agree to an $135 installment plan to pay off my loan but only with the $4K+ Accrued interest. Anyway I did talk to Lakisha and she mentioned that if they send a debt collector or sue to contact your Firm, and I just received a letter from their collectors. Please if there is anything you can do to help I would so greatly appreciate it, I have paid atleast 8k which was the amount of my loan however the collection letter states that I still owe over 5000. I can’t even believe that it’s legal for them to do that, I thought that if I didn’t pay by a certain date I would have to start paying interest, and I was just one month from being able to pay the final 4000 off to them when Covid started and a scheduled client had to back out because in his mind the market was going to tank. I asked for help from synchrony and they wouldn’t give me any extension even when the entire world was in trouble. I’ve never defaulted on my loans, all of my other debts are being payed and I’m in good standing … this Synchrony however are basically trying to Rob me and I just hope there is someone that can stand with me. Sincerely, Andy

I am curious if I can possibly sue synchrony bank. I don\'t owe them any debts. Instead they have a very misleading application for their PayPal Mastercard. When checking to see if I was pre qualified. I expected a soft inquiry on my credit, and an opportunity to accept or decline an offer for a credit card. Instead I got a hard inquiry, and was instantly given a 300$ line of credit. I was NOT given an option to accept this offer. It

Synchrony Bank has a policy for first time applicants of their CareCredit card for Dental or Audiology with initial charges over 1,000.00 the providers must require the consumer to apply directly with Synchrony Bank. For transactions less than 1,000 the provider can transact immediately upon application approval. Cardholders have a right to a refund , for purchases greater than 1,000 if made within 3 days of the application submission date were the application was submitted by the provider. this requirement does not apply to transactions that occur more than 3 days after the consumer completes the in -office application I applied for a CareCredit card at Verona Dental on October 25th, 2017 my application was accepted for a 3,000 dollar line of credit my initial charges were 2,766, my appointment date to have the work done was November, 7th 2017, the Vendor violated the 3 day transaction period for purchases over 1,000 an me personally applying to Synchrony for credit. I requested my right for a refund for the Vendors violation of their polices. Their response was my transaction did not qualify for a refund because 13 days lapsed between the date of my application and the date of purchase the 3 day cooling off period was fully satisfied prior to the purchase. There was no lapse between the date of my application and purchase that would disqualify me for a refund, The professional is prohibited from submitting charge transaction DATA on a cardholders account within 3 days, all purchases included in the charge transaction data constitute bona fide, arms length sales by professional of the products and services described therein in the ordinary course of professionals business My purchase was made the same day i applied for 2776.00 Vendors must report those transactions within 2 days of application aproval. I stopped paying my account was charged off sold to a collection agency LVNV they want 3,512.29 it\'s ruining my credit can you help?

I work with a debt settlement firm called Mediator Law Group. MLG finds information on the companies I owe debts to and they do whats required for all mail correspondence to mailed to them instead of me. But this is only pertaining to debt. Unfortunately they made the mistake of doing this with Synchrony even though I told them numerous times I was ok with continuing to make monthly payments because the credit card with Sync has a very low credit limit- it is manageable. Syncrony changed my address so mail was redirected to MLG. But Sync also gave this insurance company (thats supposed to make payments due to unemployment) that I had signed up with the change of address as well. The insurance company sent me some forms that were required for me to send back in order for them to continue making payments to Sync. I didnt get them of course because of the address change. I just recently discovered all of this in this past week. I wanted to work with Sync to delay the due date of the monthly required payment (8/3/23) in order for me to get the forms done and give the insurance time to make the proper payment. They did not work with me even though it was their mistake. Sync should not have given the insurance company the change of address. MLG only deals with a change of address in regards to debt and nothing else. So the lack of responsibility falls on Sync

I sent a payoff amount of over $10,000 to Lowes Synchrony via overnight express to the proper address. Someone signed for the payment, the cashier\'s check was cashed 2 days later yet they did not credit my account. I called and started an investigation. After multiple calls, I finally got a fax number out of them and I sent a letter describing what had happened, a copy the front and back of the cashed check, and a copy of my most recent statement. About a week later I got a letter from them saying they had credited the payment to my account while it was in investigation. Seven days later, I look in my account and they took the payment away and put the balance back at $10K. I am extremely frustrated that you can only talk with customer service representatives who are worthless in this situation and there is no way to get through to the folks who are supposed to be finding out why the payment was not credited to my account when it was received. It is not my fault that someone was incompetent, yet they are holding me hostage for someone else\'s mistake, and they cannot find out where the money went.

Hi, I have had several automated voicemails left by Synchrony bank, they call over 7 times in a week and also automatically text me several times. When they email me, it shows up as a possible fraudulent email according to google security. I have all voicemails and text messages saved form them. Please let me know if you need any more information.

I have a problem with Synchrony Bank. Years ago I went to a dentist and due to the cost of 5000$ I was offered an easy way with Care Credit to pay off. I signed up, not exactly knowing what it is but I paid for years since it was automatically deducted monthly. Then the amount of deduction changed and I got in touch to find out. It goes now under Synchrony Bank, the Log-in was very confusing with different account and there is actually a surplus accrued over time and the deduction is still ongoing. I reached out to their customer service email asking for clarification but didn\'t get a response. I stopped paying since there is a plus on the account and from there on i received numerus robocalls, text messages, letters etc urging me to pay again. I received a letter then they would settle if I would pay on time 1000$, which I didn\'t do. Last week a received a letter from a debt collector on behalf of Sychrony Bank asking for 3000$. Please advise how to proceed, if you take on a case like that and what the legal costs are, Looking forward to hearing back from you Kind regards Daniel Steps

When I signed up for a care credit card with Synchronoy bank, I elected to get the insurance. I contacted them to get the debt canceled because I am disabled but they then told me that since I was already disabled when I signed up that I\'m not eligible, that was never stated in the initial process. I told them that I could not pay the debt. Now, they have been adding on late fees of double the monthly payment every month, and robocalling at least once a day. I am just tired of the loud voicemails when they know that I can\'t pay anything.
