I had a claim with progressive in March 2023 and later withdrew/canceled, having my vehicle returned to me with no payout, and no further interaction with my insurer about. When I opened the claim, They towed my car to have it inspected somewhere unknown, and followed up days later with a $16k quote for its repair and as a result would be totaled pending an \"investigation\". Within 24 hours, I contacted progressive and said I wished to withdraw my claim, cancel everything regarding claim and return the truck to me. After thought, the damage was only 1/8 the quoted price, and would have costed me more if it was totaled in time, deposits on a new vehicle, loss of the 3 years of payments already made on that vehicle. Rather than starting from square 1, I sent an email and in writing requested to withdraw my claim; I received response seeming to defend the cost given by their choice of repair shop, when I received a quote of $4,200 for the same repair, and my truck was returned to me 2 hours later. NO payout was made and truck was returned. There was no further contact with the insurer from then on. I remained under policy for 2 more months, and I continued to make payments on my vehicle as nothing was paid out to them for a LOSS. And now, over 6 months later, I found out that the vehicle was reported by progressive to the NICB as a TOTAL LOSS/SALVAGE vehicle. I cannot drive, insure or register the vehicle because it has an NICB record for a TOTAL LOSS they claim is salvage now. The state requires a title to be given to me indicating salvage, and that the lien is cleared for them to register the vehicle. I have contacted progressive to try and have this resolved but i\'m hitting a wall. Pursuant to N.J. Admin. Code § 11:16-2.4 alone, i\'m not sure how this was reported. it was never a loss. Do I have a case? Can you help? any advice is much appreciated, thank you
