The personal representative can be any close family member, such as a spouse, adult child, or parent. Any damages that are awarded after the lawsuit are meant for the spouse and children of the deceased. These damages can include medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more. These damages are intended to assist the family in bearing the financial responsibility that comes with an untimely and tragic death.
