The company provides collections for loans based on campus, private education loans and those loans that were provided by the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Xerox was managing over two million federal loans from banks like Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase, and due to the number of complaints, the company is being federally investigated. The issue includes the company overcharging some borrowers as early as 2006 and never reporting this. The company did have a contract with the Department of Education to handle loans, however, this contract was not renewed due to the government finding that the company mishandled loans.According to Public Access to Court Electronic Records, has been involved in 16 consumer complaint cases. The last case to be closed was in April of 2016 and it was opened in May of 2015.The Better Business Bureau does not accredit , and they do give the business a B- rating. In the past three years, 39 complaints have been closed with the business. The majority of these complaints were dealing with billing and collection issues.
