Introduction

Bucktown is a neighborhood located in the east of the Logan Square community area of Chicago that got its name from a large number of goats raised in the area during the 19th century. Its boundaries are Fullerton Avenue to the north, Western Avenue to the west, Bloomingdale or North Avenue to the south, and the Kennedy Expressway to the east.

Transportation

Bucktown is accessible via the Chicago “L” line and the Blue Line, as well as Busses #49, #56, #72, and #9 and The Union Pacific North train.

The area also has access to Divvy and Uber/Lyft ridesharing, as well as taxi services.  Unfortunately, this can also mean bicycle accidents, rideshare accidents, public transportation accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and pedestrian accidents.

Demographics

Bucktown has a population of approximately 17,313 with 8,139 households. The percentage of households in the area with children is 20.3% with a median household income of $114,600. The most common occupations include management, business, sales, administrative, and entertainment.

Education

Bucktown is home to various schools, which include:

  • St. Mary of the Angels School
  • Chicago International Charter School-Bucktown
  • Pulaski International School of Chicago
  • St. Nicholas Cathedral School
  • St. Helen School
  • Burr PK-8
  • Pulaski PK-8
  • De Diego PK-8

When sending your child off to school you assume they will remain safe, however, this isn’t always the case. School bus accidents, gym and physical education accidents, lack of supervision, playground injuries, and school district negligence are just a few examples of the types of school injury cases America’s Consumer Lawyer has experience with.

Attractions

Bucktown is home to many activities and attractions, which include:

  • Holstein Park
  • Wicker Park
  • The 606
  • Hideout
  • Subterranean
  • Wicker Park Farmers Market
  • Flatiron Arts Building
  • The Den Theatre

While most of the time spent at these Bucktown attractions will be enjoyable and uneventful, accidents can occur, including slip and falls, bicycle accidents, bus accidents, car accidents, drinking and driving, dog bites, and playground accidents.
