Introduction

The Magnificent Mile, occasionally referred to as Mag Mile, is Chicago’s upscale section of Michigan Avenue. The area was given the nickname in the 1940’s and is home to Chicago’s largest shopping district. To date, Magnificent Mile is the eighth most expensive place to rent in the United States and is home to many of Chicago’s landmarks.

Transportation

Magnificent Mile has numerous options for transportation including busses, “L” trains, METRA, Amtrak, and Divvy rideshare bicycles.

The area also has access to Lyft/Uber rideshare services and taxi services. Unfortunately, this means that rideshare accidents, pedestrian accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and public transportation accidents can be common in the area.

Education

Magnificent Mile students are primarily serviced by the City of Chicago School District, as well as charter schools and private schools, which include:

  • Guidepost Montessori School at Magnificent Mile
  • New Music School
  • Frances Xavier Warde Catholic Cathedral School
  • Walter Payton Preparatory High School

When sending your child off to school you assume they will remain safe, however this isn’t always the case. School bus accidents, gym and physical education accidents, lack of supervision, daycare accidents, playground injuries, and school district negligence are just a few examples of the types of school injury cases America’s Consumer Lawyer has experience with.

Attractions

Magnificent Mile is home to many activities and attractions, which include:

  • Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier
  • Chicago History Museum
  • Chicago Sports Museum
  • Maggie Daley Park
  • Chicago Architecture Center
  • Lucky Strike and FTW Chicago
  • Drake Hotel
  • Fort Dearborn
  • Water Tower Place
  • Chicago Place
  • The Shops at North Bridge

While most of the time spent at these attractions will be enjoyable and uneventful, accidents can occur, including premises accidents, slip and falls, bicycle accidents, bus accidents, car accidents, drinking and driving, dog bites, and playground accidents.
