Introduction
Streeterville, named for George Streeter, is a neighborhood in the Near North Side Community of Chicago. The majority of the land in the area is a reclaimed sandbar and is often described as the Magnificent Mile plus all the land east of it.
Transportation
Streeterville is accessible via Lake Shore Drive with multiple direct exits in both directions. The Chicago “L” Red Line, Trains ME, SSL, and UP-N, as well as Busses #147, #147, #2, #3, and #66 also pass through the area.
The area also has access to Lyft/Uber rideshare services and taxi services. Unfortunately, this means that rideshare accidents, pedestrian accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and public transportation accidents can be common in the area.
Demographics
The Streeterville area has a population of 25,519. According to the most recent U.S. Census, the median income for the area is $106,390.
Education
Streeterville area students are primarily serviced by Chicago Public Schools and private schools, including:
- Ogden International School
- Wells Community Academy High School
- Bright Horizons at River East
- Guidepost Montessori School at Magnificent Mile
- Skinner North Classical School
When sending your child off to school you assume they will remain safe, however this isn’t always the case. School bus accidents, gym and physical education accidents, lack of supervision, daycare accidents, playground injuries, and school district negligence are just a few examples of the types of school injury cases America’s Consumer Lawyer has experience with.
Attractions
Streeterville is home to many activities and attractions, which include:
- Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable Homesite
- The Navy Pier
- Allerton Hotel
- John Hancock Center
- Museum of Contemporary Art

- Polk Bros Park
- Nicholas J. Melas Centennial Fountain
- Pioneer Court
- Jane Addams Memorial Park
- Saint James Chapel
- DuSable Park

While most of the time spent at these attractions will be enjoyable and uneventful, accidents can occur, including premises accidents, slip and falls, bicycle accidents, bus accidents, car accidents, drinking and driving, dog bites, and playground accidents.
