Introduction

The Loop is the central business district of Chicago and the main part of its downtown area. The Loop is the second largest commercial business district in North America after Midtown Manhattan and contains the world headquarters and regional offices of many global businesses.

Transportation

The Loop has numerous options for transportation including busses, “L” trains, METRA, Amtrak, and Divvy rideshare bicycles.

The area also has access to Lyft/Uber rideshare services and taxi services. Unfortunately, this means that rideshare accidents, pedestrian accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and public transportation accidents can be common in the area.

Demographics

The Loop has a population of 33,432 in its 1.58 square miles with a median household income of $93,254 according to the most recent U.S. Census.

Education

The Loop students are primarily serviced by the City of Chicago School District, as well as charter schools and private schools, which include:

  • Ogden School
  • Phillips Academy High School
  • Wells Community Academy High School
  • Jones College Prep High School
  • Munchin College Prep
  • GEMS World Academy-Chicago
  • British International School of Chicago-South Loop

The Loop is home to many colleges and universities as well, including:

  • Columbia College Chicago
  • Roosevelt University
  • Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy
  • DePaul University
  • University of Notre Dame
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
  • National-Louis University
  • The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
  • Harold Washington College
  • Adler School of Psychology
  • Robert Morris University
  • Argosy University
  • Harrington College of Design
  • Trinity Christian College
  • Spertus University
  • Meadville Lombard Theological School

When sending your child off to school you assume they will remain safe, however this isn’t always the case. School bus accidents, gym and physical education accidents, lack of supervision, daycare accidents, playground injuries, college accidents, and school district negligence are just a few examples of the types of school injury cases America’s Consumer Lawyer has experience with.

Attractions

The Loop is home to many activities and attractions, which include:

  • Chicago Riverwalk
  • Grant Park
  • Maggie Daley Park
  • Millennium Park
  • Printer’s Row Park
  • Pritzker Park
  • Theodore Roosevelt Park
  • Openlands
  • Grant Skate Park
  • Willis Tower
  • The Art Institute of Chicago
  • Navy Pier
  • Shedd Aquarium
  • Lincoln Park Zoo

While most of the time spent at these attractions will be enjoyable and uneventful, accidents can occur, including premises accidents, slip and falls, bicycle accidents, bus accidents, car accidents, drinking and driving, dog bites, and playground accidents.
