I contacted my daughters doctors office and they made me aware that there was a previous balance from 2018 that was turned over to collections. We had moved out of state and just moved back to the area. I told them no problem, I could pay that today. They said to make sure I get a confirmation number from the collections agency so they could remove the flag. I spoke with Sandy today, 10/14/2020 to make payment on an account that was turned over to your company for collections. I called and asked to make the payment when Sandy made me aware of the different options on how I could pay. She told me there was a fee involved with the use of CC, but no fee with a check. I said I would just use electronic check if that was the case. Once the payment was made I asked for a confirmation number. She then told me they don't give out confirmation numbers, but that I could call back after 7 days to make sure the payment was processed. I called my doctors office back to let them know I had paid it, but that Sandy said confirmation couldn't be given for the payment. Their exact response was, that's not right. The office manager said to call them back and ask to speak to Karen. That she oversees that department and that I needed her help to clear things up because they ALWAYS get confirmation numbers after clients have made those payments. I called again and asked to speak with Karen. Sandy answered my call again said I just spoke with you, how can I help you. I explained to her my conversation with the doctors office and she replied with, "they wouldn't tell you that" as if I was lying. How would I know to call for Karen?? She then proceeded to tell me that confirmation would only be allowed if I paid with CC and accepted the fee "like she had previously explained". She NEVER said that. She then went on to pretend as though she "couldn't hear me", but somehow felt as though she could continue to communicate enough information for me to pay online, like a child would. She was exteremly unprofessional and rude. All she needed to do, was say that it was no problem and all we needed to do was cancel the check payment and proceed with CC to get the confirmation the very first phone call. I used to think people complain about "bill collectors" because they just didn't want to pay. If they're anything like Sandy, I can totally see why now.
